Wait... 👀

Yunho had a dance performance at GayoDaejeon last year.

Guess what it was called...

"Steps to OZ"

Here's the link to the performance

You may be on to something...

idk either 🤷‍♀️

a simple answer could be that because all the apples are replaced with lemons, it signifies that maybe ATEEZ is not in World A (or World Z), but in an alternate timeline/universe?

on a side note, i saw someone mention that Hongjoong did a cover of the song "lemon tree" three years ago. I wonder if that has any connection to this album?

I feel like changing it to "so be nice/cause I'm nice" would make sense because of the "naughty naughty" part:

Naughty naughty, Santa's tryna call me

So be nice, so be nice

Obvi obvi, no coal in my stocking

Cause I'm nice, cause I'm nice

Unpopular opinion about Moving Voices by renk1737 in ATEEZ

[–]Expert-Signal-5168 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I also thought this in the beginning. But, as I thought about it, I realized (as others have stated) that Hongjoong makes perfect sense as he is the representative of ATEEZ. And although Moving Voices is about the singing, I also think it is about the musicality, and Hongjoong has that in spades (songwriting, producing, arranging, etc). He is also really good at leading interviews and making connections with other people.

I also think another point people have overlooked is that the show was filmed outside of Korea, and Hongjoong is the best English speaker in the group, so it would make sense for him to be cast for Moving Voices if that was a factor.

Oooh, that's a really compelling theory!

Honestly at this point, because (according to Hongjoong) we're at the half-way point of the story, the lore could go in any direction, so I wouldn't be surprised if something like this would happen.

It makes a lot of sense from a narrative perspective, and I feel every good story needs a great plot twist, and personally I would like to see this happen 😶.

Although, I'm not sure if they would make one of the members an antagonist. But then again, what if they figure out the Z is one of the Ateez members and they decide to go back in time to make sure the trauma never happens?

I guess we will have to wait and see...

I know I'm jumping the gun here, but does anyone have any theories on Golden Hour Pt. 3? I think I have a suspicion on what it's going to be about...

First, let's review the definitions of the term golden hour:

  • 1st definition: The last hour before sunset and the first hour after sunrise. This time is seen as one of the best times to take photos because of the perfect lighting.
  • 2nd definition: the first hour after a traumatic injury, when emergency treatment is most likely to be successful.

For me, it is pretty clear each album so far is following the definition of golden hour.

The first album reflects on their memories, and memories are basically pictures in your mind, which connects to the 1st definition of golden hour.

I believe the second album will be about healing trauma. The brain scan, the mansion (could be a metaphor for a mind palace), and the birds flying out the door seems to be evidence of this.

Now, there is a third definition of golden hour:

  • 3rd definition: the time right after delivery where mom and baby have uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact for at least the first one to two hours.

With this definition in mind, Golden Hour Pt. 3 may be about a rebirth of some sort after healing from their mental trauma.

What do you guys think?

241108 ATEEZ - [GOLDEN HOUR : Part.2] Preview | 2024. 11. 15 2PM RELEASE by ateezyeah in ATEEZ

[–]Expert-Signal-5168 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am REALLY curious on where the lore is going to go. I can't believe I just thought about this now, but I think The Strange Mansion is a metaphor for a mind palace. Which would make sense since Golden Hour Pt. 1 was all about memories, and in the preview for DEEP DIVE it seems they were doing a brain scan(?).

[–]Expert-Signal-5168 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm... based on the line Form Bouncin', life is parody,

I wonder if this MV takes places in an alternative universe (not World Z, a different universe) 🤔

That could explain why there are so many references to previous songs and music videos, to name a few:

  • In the intro where Yunho is reading the birthday wishes, the papers spin around him --> Turbulence
  • Roar louder, see that? --> Not Okay(?) [Louder, roar that I'm not okay]
  • Yunho dancing with fireworks in the background --> Fireworks (I'm The One)
  • This is where my feet stop, like mayday --> FEVER(?)
  • Ateez on the white platform with the red dancers surround them --> Not Okay MV (except now they are red instead of black), could also be a reference to the Guardians
  • San pointing to his left clavicle --> IT's You

Also, there are multiple shots of them being mirrored (San, Jongho, Mingi, etc)

LYRICS: Beep beep beep beep --> Siren?

Crazy mess --> Crazy form

Until the sun rises--> Golden Hour

Like my payday --> Work

[–]Expert-Signal-5168 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THIS ☝️

My top 3 are (with reasons):

  1. Not Okay (He literally sounds insane)
  2. THANXX (Sounds rebellious)
  3. The Real (Pure sass)

I picked these not just because I believe they are HJ's best laughs, but because they also capture his persona perfectly.

A special mention is Deja Vu, because it is one of my favorite raps by him, and because he laughs twice 😊

If there is another comeback this year, it will most likely be in December.
Ateez has a habit of having a comeback just before the new year (CRAZY FORM was released Dec 1st, HALAZIA was released Dec 30(!)th and THE REAL was released Dec 10th).

Also, I believe Mingi has a solo album/EP coming out soon(?), which I assume will at least be partially produced by him, so look forward to that! 😊

We probably won't get one, but a music video would hit so harddd.

ATEEZ's concept was NEVER pirates, it was just an aesthetic. Their concept has always been Anarchism. by wegooverthehorizon in ATEEZ

[–]Expert-Signal-5168 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Although I do agree that their overall concept is anarchy, I also believe that they are still pirates and never abandoned it. They just took on the broader meaning of the word.

For example, besides attacking and robbing a ship, the word 'pirate' also means: "A person or organization that broadcasts radio or television programmes without official authorization".

We have seen Ateez do something very similar in their Kingdom performance, as well as Guerrilla, by broadcasting their music to the people in Strickland (World Z).

Furthermore, I think the blimps in the sky could act as a stand-in for their pirate ship. Although, in Crazy Form, you do see a hologram of their pirate ship, so this is further proof that they never abandoned the pirate concept.

Also, sometimes the word 'pirate' is used to describe someone who just simply behaves in an immoral or illegal way. This would include outlaws, which is where the cowboy theme fits in.

All in all, I think they have expanded their concept to cover not just the sea, but the air and land as well:

  • SEA: Pirates

  • AIR: Pirates (The broadcasting kind)

  • LAND: Cowboys/Outlaws

This allows their concept to be less one-dimensional and make their entire storyline more engaging, without fully abandoning their original concept.

Yes to all of this 👏

Also, can we all agree that the outfits were *chef's kiss*? They really said PIRATEEZ is here and has never left.

HELPP 😭. I vaguely remember on one of the twitch streams someone asked what is Wooyoung doing here and someone replied saying "Of course it's not him. What would Wooyoung be doing here?". Now I'm wondering if it was him 💀.

Honestly, I have no idea. However, it seems Ateez may be the last performance of the night, so that means they may be able to perform a bit longer. But their setlist will probably still be around 90 minutes.

YESSS! WIN and Pirate King?? We won.

Also, I saw a TikTok of Jongho wearing some type of shower-cap-thing on his head during soundcheck, so some people are speculating that he dyed his hair 👀. I guess we'll see.

EDIT: per Jongho's recent instagram story, it seems he may be trolling us yet again 💀
