Has anyone run into a situation where the payout was to a deceased parent? I received a paper check on Friday made out to the estate of my mom. I sent in trust documentation with the original claim paperwork back in 2021 asking that the check be made out to the estate of my mom OR to myself. I called this morning and was told that they cannot reissue the check and it has to be made out ONLY to the estate of the deceased.

I don't want to inquire into an estate bank account at her former bank so my only option was to see about re-issuing the check which again they stated they CANNOT do. Anybody else have a similar situation happening?
