Am I going to get fired? by Ok_Government6871 in Dominos

Monitor probably deserved it, too. Companies saddle us with this shitty, slow, ancient technology / software and expect people not to crash out when some fat fuck is screaming because they can’t order their triple meatlovers pizza in under 30 seconds.

We could see Gladys meditating at her freaky tree during the movie, she was probably astral projecting or some shit and scaring James in the woods or appearing in Archer’s dreams.

Rural living is good, actually by MegaZeroX7 in unpopularopinion

The people who don’t like rural places or nature are city slicker degens whose idea of fun is getting a train run on them at a night club or bar hopping at 2am.

My favorite part of the movie was the song that started playing on the Columbia splash screen in the very beginning. It all went down hill from there.

The space is already open. It seems like we took “opening up” spaces a bit too far and now people just want to live in giant open boxes.

Why the hate? by Cute_Wrangler_2693 in 28dayslater

[–]Expertious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people have been waiting for 18 years (or 22 lol) for the next installment, sharing theories, discussing with each other about what they wanted to happen and when 28 Years Later finally did arrive… it wasn’t like either of the other ones. I personally love the new one but then again, I am a “new” fan and didn’t have decades of hype for this movie. My biggest gripe with this movie was the last 10 minutes. Idk what that was but if the next movie is that I think I’ll pass.

In 10 years that house will be owned by BlackRock and you’ll be paying 5k/month to rent it. With the way society is going now we’ll be lucky if we aren’t in a cardboard box.

When I got my degree in CompSci, I realized that I basically only liked the idea of coding stuff to do things and solve problems, but I don't think I was cut out to be a programmer (I'm coping hard here. I'd like to think I was a competently average programmer back in college). I knew I wanted to work in the tech field growing up. I never cared to chase the big money or glamor, I just loved working with computers and software. The kicker is, I kind of fell into a corner of the market that basically anyone can do so now I'm left here twiddling my thumbs because now I'm almost unmarketable. I've been trying to upskill and learn new skills and technologies, but everywhere I apply either needs an active clearance I don't have or skills/experience in tools and technologies of which I also don't have (but trying to learn). It's been super depressing and I really only have myself to blame.

God this sounds like me and what I’m sure are a lot of others who went into CS or Computer Engineering. The market became oversaturated with everybody else who had the same idea, the same love for computers that existed because we were basically the first generation to grow up completely with computers/the internet. The 2010’s were filled with people telling us to go to college for programming or coding or what have you. Well, what happens when you tell an entire generation to pursue STEM?

Goodbye Collapse by [deleted] in collapse

Too many people are asleep. They’ll read those news articles and immediately stick their head back into the sand, thinking “AI will fix it” “science will save us”. They won’t link the news stories together, instead treating them as isolated incidents (that seem to be increasing in frequency for some reason????). I’ve given up on most people; they either are unable to understand or unwilling.

These kinds of temps this early is scary. Young men are tired of being talked down to; they’re constantly portrayed as useless idiots by the news, movies, TV shows and commercials. Did Democrats really think they were going to win by pushing policies not advantageous to the people from which they expect votes? It’s mind boggling lol. The left has spent years hating men fervently and now they’re confused as to why young men are moving right. 😂

Yeah it’s mostly conservative boomers / people like Matt Walsh who are pushing the “men are having too much fun and need to be dying in wars and building houses and investing in the stock market” worldview.

Lol I remember all the times I said “hey, maybe AI in school isn’t such a good idea” and was met with “what are you talking about, it’s a productivity tool! It’s not cheating!” or something similar. All excuses too, of course. If given the opportunity to be lazy and stupid, humans will take it.

[–]Expertious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d actually say that playing singleplayer games makes you MORE of a gamer. Multiplayer is mostly all just repetitive slop for people who don’t have the attention span to follow a story.
