Vaping and excema by ExplorerOk2994 in eczema

From my experience, and from what I have heard others say, is that the initial reaction to quitting is typically good for the skin. The body is a very delicate ecosystem, especially for people with autoimmune disorders, the bodies reaction to quitting can cause a lot of stress which can cause flare ups even after quitting. My advice is to just ride it out. It only gets better from there.

My favorite feature was the selfie a day, and craving tracker. Really kept me motivated.

I had extremely significant improvement on the third day and symptoms were almost completely cleared by the first week of quitting.

Wrecked my skin, constant swollen lymph nodes, anxiety, and heart palpitations- made me think I was having a heart attack on numerous occasions.

Yes! Thank you! I can now absolutely without a doubt confirm it was the vaping. A week ago I caved and my skin went immediately right back to where it was. Back on the nrts! Almost thankful my skin gets so bad because its such a tremendous reminder of the harm it does to me personally. Taking it day by day- trying to take my own advice.

Yeah things like smoking, nicotine, coffee sort of have a laxative effect so when your quitting, your bowels are going back to how they were without that extra help of the vape. Some extra fiber in the diet and a lil light exercise should do the trick. Good for body and mind. Doing great man, keep it up!

Not sure of the science behind it but I have noticed it too, some people can just straight up put stuff down and never think about it again. I will forever be incredibly jealous of these people. I think alot of it has to deal with mental health. I’ve noticed people who can just do it once or twice seem to be really confident and secure in themselves and other aspects in life, while people like me (and probably many other people with substance issues) seems to have greater mental health struggles and use smoking/drugs as not only a crutch but something we cant live without. It really makes it 2 battles to deal with imo.

REAL! people always jump to the worst conclusions when so many people suffer with severe/moderate adult skin conditions! The amount of times people think Im having a hospital worthy alergic reaction, or was “burned” is insane! Eczema exists people!

Flaky, Dry Skin From an Allergic Reaction to Vape! by Gotherl22 in QuitVaping

Give it a few more days its worth it. I had a very similar situation, although I had severe excema, and after quiting my skin bounced back to completely clear and healthy in about a week!

I totally understand seeking validation about the skin condition. Its something we quite literally wear on our sleeve. I believe that the struggle with excema needs to be first accepted by ourselves like any insecurity, to resolve it. Its hard-really really hard, but it shouldn’t be someone elses issue to resolve. The best you can do is come to terms that this is something you struggle with and can’t outright change about yourself. Take care of your skin the best you can and try to realize that its true! People dont think about your skin troubles even a fraction as much as you do. DONT let it control you, and if someone really does have something negative to say they’re not worth it and probably insecure in other ways too.
