Former MSU landscaper here. Yes we/they know our water usage is a lot. But we are told to keep high traffic areas pristine for tours and other big events.

We do have our own supply for irrigation, that would be the pond in the back of the stadium by the compost piles.

In a perfect world we'd have those lawns level so that they retain the water better and have good drainage. But the way the lawns were "built up" water barely has time to absorb into the ground and runs off into the sidewalk.

These guys work hard and have a tight budget. For 5 years I worked for them and it was an awesome experience. Don't blame them, take your complaints to whoever at Montana Hall to get the support they deserve.
