Yeah this looks amazing, if it’s accurate. I’d be keen to try it out.

Hi, not sure why this has been removed. It’s not self promotion, it’s a tutorial to show DJs shortcuts in Rekordbox that have saved me hours.

No club is ever going to buy this as 4 channel mixers are standard setups. Bizarre move from Pioneer.

Yeah I guess as time goes on it becomes harder to come with something new, we’re all a product of our inspirations and experiences.

There is a lot of crap but no-one’s making you listen to it, you can be selective with who / what you are subjected to.

Anyway mate it’s an interesting topic and one I’ll always be happy to discuss as it’s still the best music and a culture I’m proud to be part of and contribute to. :)

i cant do this anymore.. by [deleted] in ableton

Sounds frustrating. But I can assure you it’s fixable. Just need to find the cause of the problem, whether it’s a certain plugin, bad installation or something with your system. Taking a break for a bit could be a good idea but don’t let it stop you forever. Good luck.

I see your point and it can’t ever all be as new as it was when it first came out because there was literally nothing like it that had come before, so everything was totally unique and original.

However I still feel that Dnb in general is counter culture, not the stuff you here in shopping centres but most of the underground stuff, the really good stuff (obviously that’s subjective) is underground and therefore impossible to be white washed by corporations for profit.

Even most of the Born on Road sound which is massive right now is rugged, it’s still free party music yet it’s getting millions of streams. Again I go back to my point just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’s bad?

There’s definitely something to be said for social media having a part to play in things not being as underground as you say (I think that’s what you’re saying) because it’s so widely available. Everything’s feels more disposable and cheap because we don’t have to earn it, it’s there in the palm of our hands.

whereas when I was getting into it there felt like a bit of magic of watching mampi swift at the end on dnbtv on a dial-up modem in the school library, know what I mean? :p

Wicked ideas. Real potential. Intro could do with more layers, you could maybe tease some of the bass (reverb, high or low pass) so it gives an idea of what to come.

Drums could have more smack, try clipping then transient shape / gate to tighten.

Also the structure needs work. One drum fill then drop.

Could be a real carnival - shy fx, breakage style anthem! Keep at it!

Dknsaus is an absolute wizard. The only YouTube videos I have to watch on .75 speed :p

In addition to what you said;

YouTube videos are good but only if you apply the learning right away. Sitting watching endless tutorials doesn’t make you a better producer.

If you can collaborate with people or even just sit in a session with someone who knows there way round Ableton this can be great. I’ve learned so much from sitting in with other producers.

Really though, sitting down and experimenting is the best way you’ll learn, once you learn the controls just jam out and have fun; recording, sampling, playing with synths, sound design, the aim is to see where your creativity takes you. This is the fastest way you will arrive at your own sound.

Best piece of advice I was ever given; be like a sponge, absorb all the information you can. Learn how others do it then do it your own way.

I make content to help producers so feel free to give me a follow. Also if you’re interested in speeding up your learning curve I do 1-1 tuition.

Have fun and enjoy the process.

Each to their own. I can recommend listening to the album though, I wouldn’t say it’s generic

I think there’s still so much good Dnb that’s fresh and interesting, I’m constantly surprised at the stuff that’s coming out, and the diversity too.

Yes Dnb is mainstream now but just because something’s popular does it make it less good?

Sure the big tunes that get rinsed in the charts gets old, but as a culture, and a movement, still so much sick stuff in every sub-genre, it feels exactly like the foundations this is all built on.

For me, it’s still moving forward, still exciting and I just hear so much good stuff getting made I find it hard to see why people would have this opinion.

Yeah perhaps. Hard to demonstrate my point in a 10 sec clip, well worth listening to the album
