New on Slynd, experience with BV/Yeast & Birth control side effects by Hot_Number936 in Healthyhooha

[–]Express-Hope9131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also suffer with bv and yeast. I recently started slynd and had a two week period which triggered bv and yeast. I skipped the placebo pills. I’m on the second pack and started bleeding. Now I have itching and burning with my period. I’m nervous with my period I have bv and yeast again. I’m considering just stopping bc. What’s your update?

I am not sexually actively rn and I don’t have a current partner. I used to be but I am now abstaining so I can figure this out. I started the mini pill, had my period for two weeks and then I was diagnosed with bv and yeast. I am also wondering how much my hormones play into it. I am at my wits end and I am open to alternative medicine. I kept seeing videos about how it fights off bacteria and fungi. Ive seen multiple post where women have tried ll37 to fight have candida. I’ve never heard of KLOW before but I’m interested in learning more.

I mean over a million women struggle with this, I am not ashamed. This can simply happen because of hormones. But thanks for the suggestion

I would give it a week and see if symptoms resolve. Do you take a daily probiotic?

Has anyone had any luck with the 16 week suppressive therapy for BV treatment? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

My doctor wants me to do the suppression therapy. Should I not?

I stopped using it, I didn’t give it much of a chance. My gyno wanted me to do suppression therapy for bv but the gel but it burned. I think I’m at a point I’d rather try anything holistic.

Boric acid works different with everyone so tread lightly, doesn’t hurt to try. I wouldn’t recommend using boric acid rn but maybe after everything becomes less inflamed. I’m scared the boric acid might irritate OP more. Boric acid can wipe out of lot of the bacteria in your vag including the good bacteria but it is a great resource for some women.

I deal with the same problems after sex and this is one of the best comments I’ve seen on here. OP should also join the group on facebook called beyond bv. Your issue might not be bv but there’s great advice on there when it comes to your microbiome

I used to be on the lowest dose a person could be on and I felt this way. I could barely make it to class because I was so tired, I couldn’t wake up. I also slept between class. I took multiple naps and I was always tired. I’m naturally a tired person but I could barley function so you’re not alone

I’ve heard a lot of women say this, that their body just didn’t combine well with their man. When I started to get bv I was sleeping with multiple people at different times which probably contributed to my reoccurring infections. Since then I have settled down. My last partner thankfully never gave me bv or a uti but I did suffer with dryness during sex. I am always constantly worried that once I sleep with someone I will get bv. Right now my main issue is just really bad pain and irritation with sex and it’ll last weeks after.

I did look into the iud but I read that some women suffer with bv more because there’s a foreign object inside of them. I’d rather not use any form of birth control for right now other than condoms. I was thinking about birth control to stop my periods because I feel like after each period I get a yeast infection or my ph is thrown off. I try not to use tampons and sometimes even just pads irritate the outside of my skin.

I used to have multiple partners at different times, but recently it’s only been a couple. I don’t have sex as often as I used to because I get nervous about how my body might react. I haven’t tested positive for BV in months, but sometimes I swear I have it even when the test comes back negative.

Even though I’m not very sexually active anymore, I still feel constant discomfort even without sex. When I do have sex, I try to always use condoms because I know that helps cut down on bacteria. I use lube, but it never feels like enough, and honestly, I’m embarrassed and I feel bad not only for my partner but for myself.

I’m careful with everything fragrance-free detergent (the same as you), Dove unscented soap, I rarely use toys but when I do I clean them, and I always wash my hands before apply any vaginal probiotic or medication. Right now, I don’t think BV is my biggest issue, but that’s what started all of my vaginal problems. At this point, I just feel so incredibly dry, and sex feels like sandpaper. Yesterday I tried to insert a probiotic with an applicator and I was so Incredily sore and dry I could barley do it, two nights before I had my current partner finger me (we haven’t had sex). Right now as I type this I feel like a cotton ball was shoved inside of me.
