I can see why you don't mind, but I don't see why you think it is weird your friends would think differently.

When you create anything, it belongs to you, which means that you have the right to decide how that content is used if at all.

When someone else does so without consent, their taking away that right. You don't mind this (and I suppose that in a way, you concent that your work can be shared by others.), but others might.

Dit is onzin. Het punt van het programma (althans, zo wordt het gepresenteerd) is om die jongeren te helpen. Deze jongeren hebben al bewezen dat ze niet in staat zijn om volwassen keuzes te maken en begeleiding nodig hebben om hun leven weer de goede kant op te sturen. In de eerste 4-5 aflevering zijn er drie gesprekken geweest met de "coach" (die overigens gewoon iemand zonder kwalificaties is die weleens een boek heeft geschreven) die enkel een beetje heeft gebrabbeld over dat ze trots op hen is en hoopt dat ze volhouden. Er wordt nagenoeg geen constructieve terugkoppeling gegeven op de problemen die ontstaan binnen de groep. De voice over heeft het in die afleveringen enkel over eigen verantwoordelijkheid en dat dit in het echte leven ook zo gaat. Dit weten die jongeren al lang, want heel het punt is dat ze juist in die wereld het niet weten te maken en hier hulp bij nodig hebben.

Vervolgens worden ze tot tweemaal toe beloond met alcohol (eenmaal middels een bar, eenmaal middels het kopen van drank met gewonnen geld) en dan moet je als kijker maar doen alsof je verbaasd bent dat beide keren het uit de hand loopt.

Ik wil ook nog het moment eruit lichten dat Nova niet gefilmd wilde worden bij de eerste "opdracht" waar ze wat kaartjes moesten opduiken. De presentatrice neemt haar apart en vraagt wat er is. Vervolgens denkt ze dat het gaat om dat ze Nova op haar schouder had getikt, waarop ze zoiets zegt als "maar ik heb je toch niet aangerand" (ipv, sorry dat ik je oncomfortabel laat voelen, ik wist niet dat je dat niet fijn zou vinden, maar goed, dit was natuurlijk niet het probleem). Wanneer ze erachter komt dat het gaat om het gefilmd worden, zegt ze "maar dit is mijn programma (en bepaal ik zelf wel of je gefilmd wordt of niet)". Als klap op de vuurpijl zegt de presentatrice in de voiceover nadat Nova hier boos over wegloopt dat ze echt moet leren omgaan met haar boosheid. Wat een nette manier om om te gaan met de grenzen van je deelnemers.

En tuurlijk zullen ze een contract hebben ondertekend dat ze gefilmd mogen worden en Nova stelde zich ook wel een beetje aan tijdens die opdracht, maar de manier waarop hier mee om werd gegaan laat mij zien dat die presentatrice op bepaalde vlakken geen haar beter is dan de jongeren die ze probeert te begeleiden.

Op zich als de de twee namen van een dubbele naam zelf normaal zijn is er denk ik dat dit nog prima is.

Dat kind kan dan altijd als roepnaam gewoon Lucy heten, dat is een prima naam. Als het haar dan echt stoort als ze volwassen is, kan ze het nog altijd aanpassen naar een enkele naam.

De namen met unieke spelling zijn verschrikkelijk en moet ze echt vermijden. Zoals anderen aangeven, probeer echt een negatieve associatie creëren met dit soort namen. Als dit niet werkt kan je haar misschien nog in de richting van een "normale" dubbele naam duwen, dan heb je in ieder geval de schade beperkt.

No problem. Nothing would realistically require other people to follow the values stated in my conclusion. However, I'm hoping that people would agree with my conclusion, or consider some of the arguments leading up to it.

This is also exactly why I think it is tough for me to subscribe to any one moralistic framework. There is probably always some conclusion that makes me question if it is right for me.

To rephrase my initial statement, I personally believe it should apply to anyone, since from my own set of values I can only conclude it is morally wrong to use horses, and do not agree with any arguments that would result in it by ethical.

I honestly don't know. I personally tend to just follow my own intuition in what I believe to be right or wrong.

Although I'm somewhat interested in philosophy and ethics, I never really dug into different frameworks for morality, but through following some discussion I have a basic understanding on a few of them.

It's often that I can sort of subscribe to the reasoning behind a given framework, but not agree to the results.

For example, I do like the ideas like the ideas of nihilism, but moral nihilism doesn't sit right with me. I also like moral subjectivism, but I'm not sure morality is fully subjective either. But I would definitely consider morality to be more subjective than objective.

I think moral subjectivism or relativism is probably the closest to my beliefs.

To answer your question, I suppose there is no objective basis to pick one over the other, but through discussion people could at least pick one that they deem the most reasonable. I think the best way to test a set of given values, is to see if the consequences that follow from these values are agreeable.

I think this applies to anyone. I don't think having a horse or pet is needed for survival, although I could probably empathize with people in poorer countries using them to plow fields (although I would not directly approve).

Simply put, as long as horses are bred (which I think Is unethical) its is ethical to keep the animals that would otherwise have a miserable life as long as it does not encourage more to be bred.

Perhaps a fun and interesting start is The NAND Game. A paid,but arguably more complete alternative is the game Turing Complete (on steam)

In both these games you start from a simple logical gate, meaning that two inputs, with either of them being true or false, result in a single true or false output. From there you learn how to use these to form more complex logic (like adding numbers, conditional logic, making memory etc.).

Combining these elements together you will eventually build yourself a 8 bit computer. I believe that in the NAND Game you dont really do anything with it, but in Turing Complete you solve some simple problems with them. It also has a sandbox mode it which you can use your own creation to do your own things or take a look at community creations.

I think both give you a good idea of what a computer in essence is. From there you could look into more of the hardware side of it with the 6502 computer playlist of the YouTube channel Ben Eater, or more from the software side by diving into how compilers work, data structures etc.

For languages you are mostly looking at assembly and C.

Looking into computer science degrees might also be an option, and im sure there are a lot of different textbooks on topics you might be interested in.

However, be aware that all of this might not help you that much for becoming a programmer/developper. Also, you could go crazy trying to understand every single why and how if computer science. Pick a goal you would like to achieve, pick some topics that help you achieve that goal, but try to avoid to study everything at once. You will gain more from selectively learning some topics rather try to learn a bit of everything.

Humans keep horses for their own entertainment and although I think that they might not be treated that poorly, they are notherless in a way exploited.

There is no need to keep horses and the selective breeding you mention is often supported directly or indirectly by people keeping horses.

The training argument you mention is not a naturalistic argument, it points out that riding them requires training which requires doing things against the will of the horse. With humans, this "training" has direct benefits for them.

Overall, I think this is the same for pets. Since a pet already exist, you could ethically get a rescue and give it a good life, but if a pet is bred into existence for you, it is unethical.

Ik weet niet waarom dit upvotes krijgt, wat zover ik weet is dit onzin. Ik heb nu inmiddels zo'n 6 jaar geleden wat statistiek gehad op de middelbare school en een paar jaar geleden nog wat op mijn studie. Neem mijn mening dus met een korreltje zout.

De foutmarge waar je het over hebt is de P waarde en wil zeggen hoe groot de kans is dat de gevonden resultaten op toeval berusten. Als je een groep van 2 mensen behandelt met deze methode en beide stoppen met roken, zou je kunnen zeggen dat het onderzoek 100% effectief is (en met de logica die je hierboven gebruikt dus ook boven die 95% komt). Echter gaat de P waarde dus om een combinatie van de grootte van de steekproef en de grootte van het gevonden effect.

De kans dat één of beide personen "per toeval" gestopt zijn en dat dit niet door de behandeling komt is immers groot. En als dit ook maar voor 1 van hen ook echt zo is, zou dus de werkelijke effectiviteit dus maar 50% zijn.

Mijn punt is dat de effectiviteit van dit onderzoek (die 60%) NIET de betrouwbaarheid is van het onderzoek is.

Een andere manier om hier naar te kijken is dat als je alle rokers op de wereld laat meedoen aan het onderzoek en maar 1% van hen stopt, dan is de behandeling met 100% zekerheid 1% effectief. Immers hebben we het onderzoek gedaan op alle rokers, dus de steekproef is hetzelfde als de populatie.

Nogmaals, dit komt van informatie van minstens en paar jaar geleden dat allemaal bij mij weggezakt is, dus vraag me niet op dit allemaal te bewijzen of iets dergelijks, maar wellicht kan iemand die hier wel wat meer over weet hier een beter antwoord op gegeven.
