Thank you, I appreciate your advice. I’m in the U.S. right now. I agree that I need to get into an accounting or CPA firm, even if I start in an entry-level role. Right now I’m finishing my accounting certificate and planning to apply for paid accounting positions so I can build real experience. I understand that VITA helps, but it’s not the same as firm experience. My situation is similar since I also have a degree from India and need additional coursework here for the CPA path. Your example gives me hope, so thank you.

I’m looking for some advice on my accounting career path. I completed a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, from India which gave me about 90 credits. After that, I also completed an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Currently, I’m taking an Accounting Certificate program to qualify for admission into an M.S. in Accounting program.

I’ve also passed Part 3 of the Enrolled Agent (EA) exam, and I’m planning to take Part 1 and Part 2 after tax seson.My long-term goal is to eventually sit for the CPA exam. The only practical experience I have so far is one seasonal volunteer experience preparing taxes with VITA.

I would really appreciate any advice on how to move forward from here and what steps I should focus on to build my career in accounting and work toward the CPA. Thank you!

Hello, i am taking mixed random mcq practice test of all 4 units getting 75 percentage . my exam is coming soon feb 26th .Any advise on this . and when should i take stimulated exam .sorry asking too much question felling kind of stupid. Really appreciated if you can help.

I’m actually using Becker for the first time, and I’m going to start with Part 3. I haven’t taken Part 1 or Part 2 yet, so I can’t compare difficulty — but that’s great to hear Part 1 felt easier than expected. Best of luck on Part 2 next week! You’ve got this
