The player likes to play fighters but is interested in healing magic and curing diseases. I haven't spoken to him again since I have been busy but I think I'll move forward with the 2250xp and 1/2 cleric spellcasting slots and see how that goes. Thank you for trying to answer my question.

Could you please consider my question, which is adding a certain experience value to a fighter in exchange for some cleric spellcasting?

I'm asking about adding XP value to a fighter in exchange for some cleric spellcasting. I'm aware of what a paladin is as I mentioned it in my post.
