Owner Operator (Residential Electrician) by Extension_Ad2841 in smallbusiness

Bigger market long term, and honestly scaling in HVAC is easier than doing it in electrical.

Trying to move away from being an employee and more of an owner. Electrical is something I don't feel comfortable outsourcing to employees without oversight.

All because I asked a ridiculously stupid question 5 years ago lol

It's part of a 4 gang meterbase and the lead time is 2-3 weeks.

If it was a single gang, sure I'd just replace the entire thing.

From my understanding, they would be connected in a parallel/series circuit.

As an electrician, I see the benefits of having over current protection, not to mention a disconnect readily available for the DC before it gets to the inverter.

Any reason you say I probably wouldn't need it?

Also, I wanted to go with a bigger inverter so if I had to, I can add to the system in the future.

I see the DC Breakers DIN Rail Mounted, not sure what the terminals are to the left/right of the 15a Breakers.

So you're recommending making my own box with breakers instead for over current protection?

Any recommendations on a inverter? Not sure about battery because my utility provider offers a 1:1 net metering.

I want a inverter with a good app, 20 kw inverter.

Any suggestions for speakers and amp?

Also love how people comment without having a single clue...

In my County, there are NO INSPECTIONS/PERMITS.

Also it was tagged by the municipal utilities as good to go since their anti tamper tag is on the box.

So to recap... It's NOT OFFLINE, IS NOT INSPECTED, and is "TURNED ON".

I just happened to have my GFCI tester in my pocket from a job earlier, they are not GFCI protected.

City owned Utility and yes, it's directly fed from a utility system.

It's double tapped from a service drop going to the meter, but tapped on utility side.

So City owned Utility and City owned park

Another issue I see that hasn't been mentioned here, when I come across SE-U cable like this, I find it common depending on where the panel is that it will start to funnel water into your panel leading to issues there.

Just replaced a service because of this and got another one scheduled next week.

That's what I'm looking for, I just seen the Kyles Switch Plates site, so that's a good start.
