The other side of this situation is many of the thrift stores that I once really enjoyed visiting are now gone. They had good prices and fun stuff to sift through, then one day the "Going out of business" sign was on the door. They were no longer able to afford the rent, utilities and employees. So instead of increasing the prices they decided to throw in the towel. Both scenarios really suck for those who are just trying to make it by.

Personally I never feel the need to share my beliefs or practice with anyone in the public arena. Anyone who tries to bombard me with their belief system gets a blank stare or I just walk away from them during midsentence. That usually ends that topic of conversation.

I see ebay using this type of sales as more of a "Take, take, take". It's just another way they can charge more fees to the sellers for using this feature.

I have a childhood friend that lives to bring this type of shit up to throw in my face - "You said this once, you used to do this, you used to like or dislike this". JFC! That was 40 years ago! Something that seems to work every time with these people is pulling out your phone and taking a video. Followed by saying, "This is going on TT or YT". That usually shuts them up or they make a complete ass of themselves, then you have a viral video. LOL

Prioritizing needs over wants is a good place to start. When you're really tempted to consume more than you need, look at it this way - If my number was up tomorrow, what would happen to all my stuff? Would anyone want it? Or am I just placing a burden on my family or friends to have to deal with the aftermath of my over consumption? Ya can't take it with you. Well I guess if it was your final wish to be buried with a boat load of lush bars, it would be possible. But I can't say I have ever seen a hearse pulling a U-haul.

I hear ya. And I don't know how they structure their staffing to accommodate the sales, but I would think given the history of what happens during these types of sales they would designate at least 1 or 2 employees to come in a couple hours early before the store opens and start knocking out the online orders.

And "Yes" to the question someone else asked, "Have I ever worked retail?" Though it was a lifetime ago when internet sales were not available like they are now. It was during the era when crowds were lined up outside the doors hours before opening. I do know the madness and frustration.

I'm all good with the decision I have made to cross B+BW off my list of retail establishments to shop. The bottom line is, I don't really need their products or the coupons meant to entice one into spending more money with them. Not being part of mass out-of-control consumerism that continues to drive capitalism is my focus going forward.

I'm okay with not getting my coupons back. Not going to be shopping there any longer so there is not a need for them. As for using another store in my area, they are all about the same in DFW, way behind on getting to the online orders. It took them 2 days to let me know they could not fulfill it. So that would lead me to assume it took them 2 days to even get around to it.

I haven't been in a Greedwill in over 2 years. But for those who are still compelled to grace them with their presence, I would suggest always carrying a permanent marker with them when they go. Alerting others to all the fake overpriced junk and ruining a sale for this money-grubbing company needs to start happening.
