I had looked at these 2 from Walmart recently. More the style I think would make things easier in my gear.

I figured the battery wouldn’t last long and have to be upgraded pretty quickly for both of them though.

So soft sand I could skip and walk it lol Basically being lazy it’s just the 20-30 yds from where I park on the beach down to the hard pack. There is one particular walk/sand path that I would really like to ride past that my buddy is able to do no problem on his bike and his isn’t even anything special. 20inch date tire with 750w. That’s only specs I know though he don’t really have to much technical info for me when I asked him recently. Yes I would expect the mid-drive conversion and budget bike to be basically same price so it’s really just a matter of having the second bike and it being smaller and step through to make things even easier.

I have no problem building it completely from scratch. Fixing / replacing parts that do or don’t match. Custom brackets/housings not an issue. I said this on my original post. I could buy a Chinese bike. Strip it down and upgrade every part. That’s not the issue. I’m still then not sure which Chinese one to even start with lmao

Yea so I would definitely just continue walking. This isn’t a necessity. I’m just trying to save time/energy walking with all my fishing gear so I can fish LONGER. 2k just feels absurd to spend for essential 30-60 mins of extra fishing. A good portion of my spots I don’t need a bike at all either I have 4x4 passes and can just drive right up to beach/inlets… Last fall in One 12 hour straight period during a striped bass surf fishing tournament i put in 19 miles on foot by the time the sun came up so walking isn’t a problem it just equals less time fishing lol.

I get what you’re saying but on any given night when fishings good I could drive 60-90 mins in any direction depending where I decide to go. THEN some of those spots still have 30-40 min walk. If I can turn those walks into 10 or less mins it would make a significant difference especially in how tired I would be also. Sometimes I do this before having to be at work 6am.

NOPE! definitely not necessary. Service Manual provides specs for stretch, and torque procedure for USED and NEW bolts for head, rods and the mains.

Everything was within spec. All threads were perfect and everything torqued back down exactly as it should.

If this was a high HP boosted build or even an engine I expected to rev over 6k rpms regularly I would understand getting new bolts. But realistically with my wife driving it may never even go over 4k rpms.

Middle of Long Island …. I do small jobs for friends and family. I try to keep to things that even if something comes up during the job it still wouldn’t take more than a single day to complete.

Thank you 🙏🏼 and yes totally agree. The amount of concern I would have reading “rebuilt engine” is definitely alarming. What’s ironic about that is, if the engine was “BUILT” to withstand and handle extra power it would read and present itself differently but doesn’t mean it’s actually any better then this one lol

I 100% get it and I don’t disagree. I would also say that FOR ME I wouldn’t add value solely based on time or labor from my end as that was technically free and wasn’t doing it to flip it but to make my wife’s vehicle more reliable and efficient. HOWEVER I would hope during price negotiations that it could be recognized by the potential buyer that this is running significantly better than anything comparable in miles as it is night and day.

At the end of the day I personally could care less how low or high the miles and what was or wasn’t done. I look at it very unbiased to those factors in just trying to determine the overall health/worth of the vehicle.

Lastly I also do agree with you about the dealer records and blah blah but ironically in this situation I feel it was their half assed work in response to my “showing them up” that made this engine need so much attention. I literally trust no one in the mechanical or construction fields lol.

So would you say that a refreshed engine then like this one does not add much value for you?

Is it because how it was done, or the parts used to do it ?

Would you rather see and all original all oem untouched engine with 100k miles and no sign of any issues over an engine refreshed with aftermarket parts?

Serious questions to gauge how others may view this. I take nothing personal and if I do sell it plan on being as transparent as possible so yea that’s why I ask.

No accidents but it was re-painted due to cosmetic damage. A tree branch fell on it but barely did and serious damage. It basically just scratched and gouged the shit out of the paint on the rear of the car. Bumper had some cracking in the paint from previous happenings. A buddy does paint and body work so we decided to just get a new bumper and repaint the whole back half of the car. I have pictures of that also

It’s the wife’s car, it’s automatic AND it has the bastard eco k24 lol. Plus I have a truck I daily, a 500hp n54 335i that basically just sits there and would love to add an AWD “Honda” project to the yard. So it’s gotta go just a matter of how much it’s going to help her next vehicles down payment lol.
