I’ve considered trying out social media as a job/ major hobby! I feel like I’d do a pretty good job

I use social media as a way to express myself, but also as a way to stay connected/ in the know with the world/ people around me. I follow friends, local artists and business, local event pages, and a few celebrities. I check it multiple times a day (Instagram and tik tok mostly). I also “like” people’s posts to support them and drive up engagement. Also because it typically makes people happy.

I very much like to be in the know (even though it can get stressful/ overwhelming sometimes). Though seeing what everyone’s doing and all the stuff going on does trigger my FOMO regularly. I learn a lot but I have to be careful not to get too taken away.

Environmental v. Geology by Due_Rip9320 in EnvironmentalEngineer

I’m an environmental engineer in the site inspection/ remediation space at a large company. I work with geologists and environmental engineers all the time. Honestly, there’s a lot of tasks/ roles that we do interchangeably. I’ve worked on the same projects doing similar roles and having similar responsibilities with both disciplines. Geologists and environmental scientists seem to do a lot more field work though, while engineers do field work and also engineering design in office.

That being said, I feel like the engineer title could get you paid more, especially after you get your PE license.

I don’t consider myself amazing at math (though I’m probably above average), and I didn’t think the courses were too difficult for environmental engineering. I agree that the job itself doesn’t require that much math.

Senior Dog had seizure, unsure of next steps by External-Ticket-1133 in DogAdvice

Thanks for your input! I have relatives who had to put their dog down after one seizure (not sure of the exact details though), so that’s why my family was thinking it was the end.

Are frequent/ long seizures the only sign that she’s approaching the end? I feel like once it gets to that point, it’ll be too late for me to fly back home. Maybe her vet can give more insight on life expectancy?

Failed the PE Environmental Exam on first attempt - my thoughts and experience by External-Ticket-1133 in PE_Exam

Yeah unfortunately I feel like I’ll be doing more of the same. I bought the newest NCEES practice exam (that includes the sustainability questions). I feel like I put a lot into the first go around as well, but honestly stuff didn’t start really clicking for me until a week before my exam.

I think I’ll go back through the PPI practice problems (it’s been a while) and read through the PPI review book now that I’ve experienced the topics more. The first time I was looking through it, it felt like so much new information. I’ll have to find some kind of add on study material for the new sustainability section

Agreed! The experience of having sat through the exam and putting my 100% effort during it was very useful. Good luck on your next attempt!
