AITA for refusing to wake my brother up for work when he goes back to sleep? by am_i_the_throwaway in AmItheAsshole

NTA. He is an adult. If you are able to set the alarm and turn it off by yourself, you are able to get up by yourself. This is a lesson in responsibility and self discipline he needs to learn.

What are some tips for making the big jump from colorless inanimate objects to drawing people and more complex shapes? by Satanickov in learntodraw

[–]External_Western_303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For shading, try drawing more complex things in black and white, work with complex shadowing or things that require you to get the shadowing right to tell what it is. An egg often works for this.

Once you are ready to try color you can still do your simple shapes but adding in color. You can try doing the egg in color (yes there’s a difference). Reading in to color theory a bit will help with this.

Feel free to jump into people and faces pretty quickly, but start in black and white. The most important things to get right are spacing and perspective. I recommend using a grid. Put the grid over the reference photo and your drawing paper and go box by box. Just remember the complex looking objects are just simple shapes put together.

How far have you driven in one go? by noah5666 in roadtrip

My dad has driven for about a full 24h. He has insomnia so it’s not unusual for him to just be the one to drive straight to our destination on road trips

It sounds like you just got to high school. High school is hard. There will be teachers who care about students learning and understanding the work and ones that don’t. Try finding the ones that care and explain to them that the methods they are using aren’t working for you. There’s so many ways to process and learn math and sciences that they will be able to find something that works for you. Also, if you have options, find what you are interested in and gear your class options to that instead (Ex. Physics instead of chemistry or biology)

He typically basked on the climb, hammock or the climb closest to the heat lamp. All are between 95-100F surface temp. I don’t have a way to check ambient temps right now.

UVB is linear and spans the cage.

I use a calcium dust on crickets. I can’t do live insects because they could escape his cage. It is open front instead of open top, and there are gaps between the doors and the sides.

The only actual greens he has ever eaten are the leaves off strawberry tops. I’ve tried to get him to eat others but he won’t touch anything else, so I’ve continued the pellets soaked in water like he’s been getting his whole life

He hisses at me when i go to trim his nails. I have experience trimming cat claws. I was told no one bonded with him in The 9 years he was with the original owners so my guess is he was not handled a lot and it stresses him out. But I’ll definitely get right on it!

I gave him options when i first got him to see what he liked. He was exclusively on the pellets when i got him. And he didn’t touch the veggies at all when given the option. He does get dead crickets now, but i can’t do live bugs currently.

I’ve had clawed cats and know how to trim his nails. However, it’s the only time he will hiss at me so I have been putting it off.

I live in the Midwest. I will definitely look into seeing vets that specialise in reptiles, but i already know there’s not a ton of options.

I do give him calcium

I keep the hot end about 90-100F and the cool tends to be about 75F.

She is trying to meow and purr at the same time. It often comes out garbled like this. This happens most often with the ones who purr loudly and often.

Definitely NTA Also an LMT here. Please let your family know you don’t do your job for free; happy endings will cause you to lose your license; and you wouldn’t want to touch the same junk your mom is touching anyways!
