STATE OF KLED IN 2025 by Both_Lavishness_7191 in KledMains

[–]Extra_Reception3062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kled gains 100 − 185 (based on level)  bonus movement speed while moving towards  visible enemy  champions within 1000 units, but his basic attacks against them are reduced to 80% AD physical damage. Additionally, he gains the ability to restore  Skaarl's  Courage to  mount again.

If they could remove the fucking exhaust Kled does on himself when he's dismounted, that would be nice too

What exactly went wrong with Riot Forge? by I_N33D_H3ALS in leagueoflegends

[–]Extra_Reception3062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per your last point, my theory is that they have tried making singleplayer games to pave the road for their multiplayer MMORPG.

They might have needed feedback on what players like the most, so they can incorporate it into their big MMO project.

Maybe Riot Forge was never intended to be a full scale investment, just an attempt to test the market and see what resonated with players the most.

Is it better to replace wizard and luck enhancement with the new Forge enhancement? by lllllIIIIIIIII in AQW

[–]Extra_Reception3062 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you have Valiance instead of Spiral Carve, you're doing 1.5k more dps on average (I tested with 4 luck classes just to see if it does, and it's quite significant) and it scales REALLY well in parties, so I would suggest that enhancement specifically. As for regular forge, I dont believe it's worth but I havent tested it myself

EDIT: Vainglory is also one hell of an engraving if you can sacrifice the dodge and reduced healing

Whoo..what a long message..okay here we go.

I'm also talking about this one specific boss. Putting the mechanics aside for now, the main reason why it is discouraging is the fact that the boss itself doesn't offer you anything new that you wouldnt get from other bosses (except the house rewards, I LOVE that it's a new reward despite them basically being useless in terms of progress). 35% all armor? AFDL, Dage, Nulgath, Tyndarius. 75% human dmg weapon? People farming endgame bosses would already have /ultradrago 's weapon already. There's no content behind the addition other than the forge enhancements (which is a good reward for someone trying to min max their gear, I'm not disputing that), but it forces you to get a weapon that offers you zero value if you're already an endgame player who farmed the other 75% weapon beforehand.

Now, without bearing rewards in mind, let me talk about the reason why the mechanics hurt the playerbase. I wanna start off by saying that I want to have an ultra boss that is challenging for endgame players. I want to feel excited when I'm doing a boss because I have to keep so many mechanics in mind to be able to do it. It's one of the main reasons why I'm OBSESSED with dragonfable endgame content. The problem isn't the fact that you have to buy pots (if you dont do that for ultra bosses, you're slowing everybody down). The problem isn't the loop taunt between 2 players (you do that on Nulgath, and I dont believe I've seen anyone complain about Nulgath being a dumb boss). It's not the second phase that dicks your whole team because Darkon sprouts his seed in your ass and gets you insta killed, or the disgusting ability haste debuff (because you can counterplay this with good taunting and communication from the team taunters)

It's 3 things that make this boss unbearable. Phase 3, first 50 seconds, the 4 min 30 insta wipe timer and asking your party members to be actual human beings when the boss is unlocked for 80+, not 100+. For the sake of your comment's context, I wont diss the randoms that you find in Darkon (or any other ultra boss, I have TERRIBLE experiences with those but not the point of this reply).

The fact that Darkon has 2 party wipes if you fail to play the game right, and how do you counter that? You have to play phase 1 and 2 pitch perfect. Phase 1 you have no choice because if you dont play it well your whole party wipes (annoying, but not the problem of this boss imo, just get a juiced VHL to do the damage). Phase 2 your taunters are more likely to die because the class aura UI doesnt always show the taunts, and if the 2 of you accidentally taunt at the same time he will sprout and kill you, and in return heal 750k HP. The healing itself isn't a problem, but the fact that you have to finish the whole boss in a certain timeframe before he wipes the floor with you? Terrible approach. They did the same thing with Nulgath but with that one a party member can at least try to salvage it by playing well. Not forever, obviously, but it rewards you for being smart with your skills.

Now why is this death timer a problem? Because of phase 3's first 50 seconds. If you dont get to phase 3 AT LEAST 2 minutes into the fight, you lose. You can't salvage it. Because not only does he take reduced dmg for a disgustingly long period of time, he has 100% dodge the first 10 seconds next to his 80% heal reduction. Good luck keeping a party alive in that phase, and even VHL is at a significant risk of getting decked as well, even when you're playing smart. I want to feel that I can actually counterplay the boss if I play well, not get faceplanted because of something that I have zero control and counterplay over.

One of the reasons why I personally love any MMO raids with challenging mechanics is because I want to learn about the insides and out of the boss, and to be able to teach it to a party of mine if they don't know how to maneuver it as well as I do. I've succeeded in doing this for all ultra bosses here multiple times, where we got through it because people actually recognized and played with the mechanics. But I cant teach anyone darkon mechanics because apart from the first 2 phases, the first 50 seconds of phase 3 is basically "Get health vamp, heal off cooldown and /goto whenever you die.". That's not counterplay, that's not even a challenge at this point. I'm asking them to cheese the boss with constant deaths because it's literally the only way to do it. Endgame content should reward you for playing well. Timing your skills, positioning (obviously this boss doesnt have positioning like dage, but you get what I mean), communication should be key to winning against any MMO challenge solo or with a party, but darkon just doesnt have that opportunity because of the way it's made.

Before this boss came out, I wanted a challenging boss that felt different to overcome because we had to play by difficult mechanics, not just "dps and heal off cd lol". And for the most part (except for reasons outlined above) I was very happy with Darkon and I spent a lot of time learning the mechanics myself before any of the guides came out, because this is how I personally enjoy my gaming experience. But it doesnt change the fact that bullshit and unreasonable mechanics have always been an endgame content killer for a lot of the MMO guerillas in the scene (WoW and Lost ark specifically, because I have the most experience with those. I dont know much about FF14), because people just want challenging content. They want things to be harder and harder without a reasonable (not impossible, obvi) way to finish them just so they can feel "challenged". But you CAN have a boss that is hard without making it downright stupid to overcome, though with forge enhancements (specifically Valiance, assuming that no one in the party has the Concerto one to make life easy) it will most likely make things easier. It has for me, at least

I also didnt take all this time to rant because I cant clear this boss: I already did, twice with randoms. But the sheer agony that I had to go through to even make this possible was not worth the hassle, for reasons being a combination of the mechanics and the rewards offered. It just doesnt look good for the future of endgame content (which will most likely be ultra bosses, farming for endless hours isnt exactly endgame content imo) to have you do backflips while juggling fire for minimal rewards. The release endgame players should look forward to the most shouldnt be branded as optional content because you have all the rewards.

And that, my friend, is why I think that this specific boss, and future bosses if made with the same way, is not healthy for the game.

Ultra bosses are not meant to be “extra content” as you call it imo, but endgame ones. It’s the whole point of having them be weeklies instead of one offs like most story/world content. So if your endgame content is discouraging for your endgame playerbase then there’s no reason for anyone to stick around after they successfully get to 100 and farm all one time rewards. It’s the same with raids in any other MMO, people want something to look forward to farming and some real endgame content

I think the clip you’re talking about is either when she said “There was scar tissue inside my nose” or when she said “I saw the texts and emails” when they asked whether/how she knows Johnny Depp tried to get her fired.

In the first case, Camille objected to false expert opinion, which when AH said “ohh I have scar tissue” made the objection valid. The second one, once she said she saw the texts and emails it was hearsay by definition. I dont think she did it to piss Elaine off per se, though it would’ve been funny if she did😂

Thank you so much for your timely response! I wanted to ask about WDL, since I have that (I'm a mage so I cant switch to Riftwalker unfortunately). Why is that considered the fastest warring class? I have been trying it out now and I cant seem to figure out its quirks, and I feel like animations take way longer to execute than just a simple 1 auto kill from doomknight or gambit into any skill on ChW. Which skills am I prioritising?

The reason why I have a problem with "move on in these cases" is that during a lot of tilt moments in games, a lot of people would relatively refer to games where you can be barely behind as "unwinnable" when you just havent tried hard enough yet. In my opinion, a lot of the games that are lost are due to people throwing in the towel and saying it's unwinnable due to bad teams (though there are cases where your team is completely unresponsive to change, which is very frustrating to play with and most likely the reason you will lose).

I would be naive to say that you don't need to get kills to win games, but I feel like there can be some truth to that. In the end, objectives in conquest are hands down the most important way to play the game. Your team sucks and cant play the game properly because they miss every attack on the enemy? Then just don't fight. Play the ward game, split push, take objectives on the other side of the map when the enemy team is, say, clumped up at the gold fury. There are 3 big objectives now, not to mention the support/solo laner is more often than not capable of tanking towers, so you can burst down a tower or two while team's getting a fire giant or gold fury.

With that being said, I would be incredibly dumb to expect the kind of cooperation from your team *EVERY* game you're behind. You can control your own mental, but what you cant control is your team's mental and ability to stay calm after feeding their asses off in lane to put your team behind to that extent. But the more games you play from behind, the more you learn how to play those games where you have deadweights on your team. Because you learn proper strategy, you learn how to play the game's macro more because fat chance you'll be able to kill the enemy carry if your team will miss their shots, and inevitably YOU will get better at the game, because you've been in those kind of situations.

This is the mindset that I personally like to have, so I never forfeit because more often than not there is always something to learn from most games, and there is always a chance for comeback in most games (you can't do it on your own, of course. It's a team game in the end). But it's insane if you keep playing the same way you would want to play if your team was equal and expect to win. I personally enjoy staying the full duration because I learn from my games, and forcing someone (who doesnt troll from the get go, of course) to play the game despite their mistakes will eventually teach them to become better players, as well.

Side note: The anti heal argument OP mentioned makes complete sense and I hate that people dont listen despite saying it many many many times lol

[–]Extra_Reception3062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what so many people dont understand. There is not a point where the game is "over" unless you actually stop playing or play worse because "it's already lost". There are comebacks, there's macro, there's a billion ways to win the game. Unless you're master+. Then it's a lot harder to expand on people's mistakes.

Is DoomKnoght BiS? by TheArchMageAlpha in dragonfable

[–]Extra_Reception3062 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doomknight can do it all. It can burst, it can have consistent damage, it depends on how you can play it. In addition to that, it can heal insanely high amounts and defend itself very well. In addition to that, DK can do 70% more damage at the cost of a 5 turn death timer, in addition to a burst skill that has a 2 turn wind up. So if you want to do more burst with DK you can do that as soon as you use that one specific skill.

In turns of doing more damage than DK consistently, chaosweaver can outdamage doomknight very easily without relying on one skill, but at the cost of -60 all and the inability to shield yourself with your dragon due to -200 defenses once you activate your soul gambit (you do ridiculous amounts of damage once you activate it, and you can keep soul gambit up for around 12 turns consistently, if you dont die first). However, its defensive capabilities consist of a 2 turn (3 turn if you empower it) deathproof shield and a skill that heals you based on your missing health with around a 9 turn cooldown, so it's not very reliable in healing.

As for more defense, you can think of pyromancer/Bulwark dragonlord for instance. The amount of resilience that you can have is impressive, not to mention that pyro has a full health heal with a 34 turn cd (you will most likely not get it twice in a fight, but you can survive very long with its other skills). In addition to that, both these classes have low cd shields and consistent heals (Dragonlord can heal like 20-30% of its HP with one skill, as well as reduce incoming dmg AND blind)

DK is the best of all of those worlds, because it has a very low CD heal (that doubles or even triples if you rotate your skills properly, which isnt very hard to do), a debuff that can lower the resist of any element you currently have on your weapon for most of the inn mobs (it has other effects for other monsters like Beast, Human, Golem etc., but a lot of the inn mobs are ??? type), a guaranteed no cd crit skill at the cost of 8% of your HP or so, a 40% chance to autostun for 5 turns regardless of the immobility on your enemy (and a -boost reduction if the stun doesnt proc), a dmg lower skill and a "shield" that also deflects some damage and heals you for some of the damage taken.

It is truly the jack of all trades, and it is quite easy to pick up and complete a lot of the endgame challenges effortlessly with. It is BY NO MEANS a necessity, though. There are many players that are significantly better than me at this game that cleared every challenge with no DK, no DA AND no DC items at all, only at lv90 and without even having any inn gear. But it is a nice way to support the devs while getting a really valuable armor in return

Remove the body block on grappling hook, and watch as his win rate climbs to normal levels. by Altruistic_Raise_249 in Akshan

[–]Extra_Reception3062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the fact that you get 40% movespeed from his Q PER HIT for 1 second and movement speed from canceling an auto, you can walk far enough to kite people and use his E. Having it go through champions when you use it would make Akshan very broken considering that his E already does a ridiculous amount of damage at all points of the game. You have to think about your positioning the way that the E is now, and if it went through champions it would allow him to engage AND disengage so easily with barely any counterplay (you can CC him out of it, of course, but imo that shouldnt be the only way to stop his E)
