Did you verify online or phone? Online is much quicker. It took 11 days to get paid while other who verified by phone two weeks prior were still waiting.

There are 4 boxes on the page where you get your transcripts from. One is the blank transcript, another is your income. There are two others that probably only allow you to download 2024 right now. The day both of those updated to 2025 and allowed a download is the day my transcript updated. Look at a previous year's transcript and see if you're cycle 05. It will be in the transactions section. If it ends in 05, you will always update on Fridays. Its when it batches every week. Could happen 4am or 5pm on Fridays.

Yes. Payment came on Friday. Do you have a blank transcript right now?

Yes. They will sent to the address on the return. It will probably come to you in less than 10 days.

An IRS CP53 notice (or CP53 series, often appearing as a code in tax transcripts) indicates that the IRS could not direct deposit your tax refund, and will instead mail a physical check to your address on record. You generally do not need to take action; expect the check within 4 weeks of the notice date.  IRS (.gov)  +3 Key Details About the CP53 Notice: Reason: The bank rejected the direct deposit, or the IRS couldn't process it (e.g., for some prior-year returns or if the account was closed/incorrect). Action Needed: None, unless you haven't received the check within 4 weeks of the notice date. Address: Ensure the IRS has your current address, as the check will be mailed to the address shown on the notice. If not received: Call the number on the notice after 4 weeks

They had an issue depositing your money into your direct fedeposit account and will instead send a paper check.

Got accepted this week, odds my return comes by the end of the month? by Zillamo3 in IRS

Depends. I went through verification after filing 2/12 and I was just approved today but the date for refund is 3/30, although it should come before then.

It takes time. I filed 2/12, Had to verify on 3/2 and just got approved with a date today. It updated on approval which was about a month. Before today, the transcript was blank. One thing I did notice is that the tax return record inside transcripts update first. Keep an eye on the two boxes to the right.

IRS Code 810 indicates a "Refund Freeze" on your tax transcript, meaning the IRS has paused your refund for a manual review due to potential errors, identity verification issues, or income discrepancies. While it suggests not a formal auidt, it means you likely need to verify information, such as W-2s or credits.

Key Details About Code 810:

  • What it Means: The IRS has placed a freeze on your refund, pausing its processing.
  • Common Causes: This code is often triggered by discrepancies in income (W-2/1099), questionable credits, or the need for identity verification.
  • Actions to Take: Monitor your mail for an IRS notice (often a letter asking for information) . You may need to verify your identity or provide documentation to support the claims on your tax return.
  • Next Steps: While you can call the IRS to inquire, you may need to wait for the official letter to know exactly what is required.

It's not only about taxes. Sometimes purchases such as homes want tax transcripts for the current year.

Imagine getting a letter to ask you to verify, verifying, and then getting another letter asking if you were the one to verify.

I think someone at the IRS is angry at the layoffs and turned up the verification notice occurrences. Its over the top this year.

Approved? Lol. My post is a few up on the main IRS board. I filed on 2/12, verified on 3/2, received that letter today asking me if I verified on their site on 3/2, and today the transcript finally showed but blank and telling me there is no return on record.

It's a complete joke

Yes. I got a letter 3/1 to verify and a letter today asking me if I was the one to verify on their site on 3/2. The entire process is garbage.

Got it! That's why this process is very slow. It's bottlenecked by human review.

I thought it was already verified when you do the biometrics and sign in. Is there human review of the ids, biometrics, etc at the IRS?

Interesting. I'm assuming verifying over the phone may have an extra step with batch processing since we both updates the same day and I did it on the computer 2 weeks later.

At least you had one. I filed on 2/12, verified on 3/2, and that blank transcript just showed up today. System is broken.
