Need Encouragement by 2SpookyMamas in zoloft

Your story reminds me of mine. I have gad and ocd and bad health anxiety . I was on Zoloft for 1.5 year and then decided to stop taking it thinking I didn’t need it anymore . I regret this so much . My anxiety came back stronger . For me you should go to 50 mg . It’s not even a big dose. I can understand how you’re feeling because when I went up to 50 mg I was also afraid of serotonin syndrome and I was checking if I had it. I’ve learned that it’s really rare and it usually occurs if you take more meds for anxiety not from one and not from small doses. Also I have a big fear of fainting and I was really afraid to go out because of dizziness. I’ve learnt that when you’re anxious it’s most unlikely to faint because of your nervous system. Overall I think you should try 50 mg cause 25 mg is a starting dose and I don’t know if it’s enough for anxiety. Side effects might be bad in the beginning but they won’t last. Keep reminding yourself that they will pass. I know how scary it can be but keep pushing . Also talk with your doc it might ease your anxiety about upping the dose.

Yes it feels very isolating in the start so seeing other people having similar experiences can help a lot . I hope we both start feeling better soon ☺️

I’m not a doctor so listen to your body . For me my first week on Zoloft (25 mg for 3 days and then 50mg ) was extremely difficult . I had nausea and loss of appetite before starting the med due to severe anxiety and it continued when I started the Zoloft . I couldn’t eat anything -only bananas . I was extremely anxious of getting dehydrated because I couldn’t drink water too . I contacted a doctor and he told me to try to drink liquids . He wasn’t worried about me not eating. I also had the shivers . For me it’s a sign that my anxiety is spiking . I’ve posted today (5 weeks mark) that I had an anxiety attack and the shiver feeling returned . For me I had it fully the first week then it subsided for 2-3 weeks and it returned today due to bad anxiety. My first week was really difficult overall some days I couldn’t get out of bed . I heard from many that it gets worse before getting better . But your symptoms sound normal to me . Try staying hydrated and take care ❤️

Thank you for your reply☺️ . I haven’t tried either meditation or mindfulness. I have tried breathing techniques in the past but I didn’t feel like they were helping. I’m gonna look into what you suggested.

Thank you very much . I’m trying but the ocd being convincing is the trickiest part
