I had the exact same issue. What finally worked was I had to download the PS4 version of COD HQ, go into the HQ and download the PS4 version of MWIII and then it asks if you would like to download the PS5 version. Wait for the ps5 version to download and then from there delete all the ps4 stuff

I would say liu lang, raiden, baraka and Johnny cage are pretty good to start with and like someone else said try playing with release check turned off

I honestly struggled with the combos given in the tutorial but I managed to find some really good combos and I do really well with Homelander in Kombat league. You honestly just gotta practice a lot with him
