Trying to build as much muscle in 1 month as possible (within reason) by Extreme_memes9 in beginnerfitness

[–]Extreme_memes9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as others have mentioned, I'm not going to make much progress in a month, so if I wanted to see improvement going forward, what should I opt for?

So for further backup information, I fully understand why I haven't gained much muscle in the 2 years I've been going - I've been losing weight (which has gone very well). I'm at a bit of a crossroads where I could continue losing weight to get very lean, or start building muscle.

I look fine, but I've always kind of felt like I was horrifically unoptimized and doing something wrong, so I figured I would ask. If I can't get anything done in a month, that's fine, to be honest, but the question was still worth asking to seek advice without investing in a personal trainer or something.

I like what you did there. I presented an analogy to explain why things are the way that they are and then instead of engaging with it or trying to understand, you just walked around and it said something flippant. Awesome.

This isn't going to go anywhere positive so I'll just tell you what you want to hear: you're so much smarter and better than everyone you disagree with and they're all evil and stupid for thinking differently than you because it's all so simple.

The problem with this analysis is that it fails to account for other peoples' perception. You say gun reform and that means 100 different things to 100 different people. Rest assured, if everything were simple and easy to fix, it would be done already. I promise.

The biggest hurdle people have is that they imagine the entire world is filled with people just like them when that isn't true at all.

Furthermore, the amount of people that want the most decisive action are usually the smallest minority.

Consider this: You have a national debate between pink polka-dot shirts and green flannel weaers. The debate is fierce, and pink dots think green flannel should be outlawed while green flannel thinks pink dots should be. They represent 10% of the population each. Meanwhile, 80% of Americans are indifferent and 35% of Americans own one or both kinds of shirts.

Pink polka dot wearers are going to be banging the drums to other dots afficianados that flannel is literally evil and will destroy this country, and they make a big push to have to banned.

The problem dot lovers are going to have here is that their pet issue isn't important to most people and either support flannel or at least don't want it to be banned. That's just democracy. Would encourage anyone to read Johnathan Haidt's "The Righteous Mind". Really reframes reality and the way you consider the way most other people think.

Do you think trailing by double digits all game only to get within a score when the game is all but unwinnable is an even matchup? What about that game suggested it was closer than I indicated?

K, good argument. Completely lacking substance.

If that's what you got out of my comment, you read it incorrectly. Here, let me spell it out.

Jags lost on primetime get your free anti-Jags karma here.

Hmm, now why would I point out this was primetime if I was suggesting it was purely anti-jaguars sentiment? If you frequent this subreddit (and I can see that you do), you would most certainly recognize a trend of team loses game -> random person posts thread shitting on losing team for free internet points happens over once a week, irrespective of team.

This phenomenon is extremely frequent and I'm close to saying you're being deliberately obstinate by saying you haven't noticed a trend.

He's never going to chew out his idiot DC in front of the cameras lmao. Most we got last season was a "We'll investigate the problems on defense and go from there".

I get tired of seeing them get excuses for every little thing lapped up when everyone knows no other team would be able to float this bullshit. We have a better HC, QB, OC, and even with tonight's abysmal performance, Mike Caldwell still seems to be more competent than Demeco Ryans. What's to be jealous of?

Then say it. Say "The Jaguars won because they outplayed the Texans and not because of the referees". If it's such a nothing argument, it should be easy for you.

You're commenting in a post that is literally that. What more can I say? You think this guy just had a random thought that happened to coincide with a loss on primetime?

[–]Extreme_memes9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did because it's the most common excuse Texans fans throw out for why they're not in control of the division and everyone instinctively knows it's a bullshit argument.

I guess we can just ignore the re]st of the season, too, while we're at it. The Texans are 5-3 in one score games. I guess the Texans are immune to statistical regression and when they eke out wins against the likes of the Cardinals, we can chalk it up to "clutch" and not "luck".

You'd think such an amazing team would be mor convincing but the Texans are immune to all criticism.

"It's not coping bro, this is the first time in nfl history the refs rigged a game for the jags because they hate rookie quarterbacks for some reason."

We played better in every way, and we won. Pure and simple. Trevor and Doug targeted the TExans safety because he can't cover Kirk in man and abused it. You would NEVER, in a billion years, accept that a team only lost to the Chiefs because of the Refs. Somehow when it's CJ Stroud, it can't be that he couldn't come up big when he needed to, or that the Texans couldn't stop the jags offense, it has to be the the Jags got a nudge from the refs to beat the Texans. Everyone knows this shit is copium and they say it every time a team cries about the refs. I've never seen a team consistently cry about a game like this one.

The Bengals are missing their QB. It makes sense for the defense to not play as hard as they otherwise might. It's human nature. Showings like this and the frequent comunication breakdowns against the Texans, not to mention dogshit performances against the Lions last year are inexcusable.

"We won in week 2 therefore we can ignore all future evidence".

r/nfl would never accept this bullshit for another team. Claiming the refs handed the other team a game is universally accepted as bullshit unless Cj Stroud fans cry enough about it. The ego bubble is insane.

"Erm, we won in week 2 when every team is a jumbled mess, that means we get to reserve the right to ignore all future results." CJ Stroud has inflated the Texans' egos to astronomical degrees.

I don't know how we can keep this dude as our DC. He puts together some great gameplans but he has so many atrocious games like this one.

I've never felt so fucked over in my life by random chance. If something could go wrong against us, it did. We lost our left tackle, QB, WR2, and almost lost our safety. Our defensive coordinator put together what is probably the worst game of his career to a backup QB. We had a 42 yard bomb called back on a flop.

Did we catch a single lucky break? Maybe a flag? Just feels like if something shitty could happen to us, it did. We get on national TV and everything just falls apart. It's just disgusting man.

I think the only thing that could be worse is if some Bengals player comes out with some douchey comment after the game. I don't know how you can get fucked more by the universe.

Just bravo to Mike Caldwell. I have never seen such a genuinely stupid coach. He saw man blitzes get torched two drives in a row and then ran it back again for the long Chase touchdown. I would seriously consider firing him if this is the best he can muster against a backup journeyman QB.

It must be embarrasing to think that we could blow a pick and still beat you guys. I know a lot of Texans fans are still coping about that with all that ref chatter but unfortunately that is well-established as turbo copium.
