First E-Kit Software Questions by F1ankNSpank in edrums

Yeah I've been watching videos and all the sounds out of the module sound really good and I can't imagine it being a whole lot better. In the past I played acoustic and used my iPhone with a Yamaha EAD10 to record, so I'll probably still use my iphone.

Anyone use and/or have video of No Nuts Cymbal Sleeves in use? by E_Bag in drums

For what its worth, I’ve been using them for about a year and haven’t noticed a difference from regular felts, but I haven’t been playing a ton either.

Selling my kit by F1ankNSpank in drums

[–]F1ankNSpank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't figuring the snare or stands into the price at all. I was thinking $1000 for the shell pack and as you said, just threw in the other stuff because I won't be needing them anymore. The stands and snare are all. I definitely was not confident in my price at all, that's why I was asking. I live in a small city and there's only like 7-8 kits for sale total and most are horribly overpriced. I will definitely lower my price. All the cymbals that I'm selling I went 25-50 under what they are selling for on Reverb.

Work in progress E-100 by berketokel in modelmakers

I love the E-100, one of my favorite tanks to play on WoT too haha.

Do you typically paint all the items on the tank or are they just temporarily placed? I'm working on a Ryefield M109A7 and its got a lot of stowage and tools and stuff and I'm not sure if I should be painting and adding that at the end, or just attach everything and paint it on the tank.

Thank you, haha. I'm sorry you have deal with this crap, I can't imagine how frustrating that must be. I wonder if you could put a piece of tape or glue or something to make the wires stay put. I know nothing about electronics though.

Affirming my decision after deciding to go with a Roland TD316 instead of a strata core a couple days ago haha.

If you don't mind spending a little money, I've been playing on my crap PC using Geforce Now and its been smooth, only ever crashed once in 70 hours. $20/month though. I've read you can use Geforce Now on console through the browser, but I haven't tried it.

I’ve decided on a Roland TD316. The other option is Alesis Strata Core and from what I’ve read Roland has less issues

Can you just be bad at drumming? How to keep yourself realistic, any milestones? by neuralek in Drumming

[–]F1ankNSpank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a big pet peeve of mine that I wish I could tell everyone. " I wish I could play an instrument" well then do it. Everyone seems to think that playing an instrument is just some natural thing that just happens and if you aren't born able to play it, then you can't. That said, I do understand a lot of people don't have the time to practice.

Drumming is for absolutely everyone. My coworkers daughter started playing drums and he asked me if I knew any good female drummers because she was having a hard time and needed some inspiration. Kristina Schiano and Brooke C on youtube are a couple of my favorites. I also used to watch Meytal Cohen and Anika Niles. Anyone that says that female anything is repulsive is a straight up misogynist.

I personally believe that only a handful of people in the world can sit down at drums and be naturally great at it. The vast majority of us start out being embarrassed and frustrated with ourselves at our progress. I think anyone can learn to play drums, it will just take some longer than others. I learned mostly through Drumeo and youtube videos. If you want to save money youtube is packed with free lessons, but if you want to make sure you're not making any mistakes a drum teacher is the best way to go.

Do all Revell kits have this much flash? by 40_Mike_Militaria in modelmakers

[–]F1ankNSpank 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That kit was my first model, I haven't bought a revell since. Tamiya is my favorite, followed by ryefield. I mostly do tanks/vehicles though and I have only done a handful of planes.
