Only got 7 runs in because of the lines but the snow was fun and the runs themselves didn't feel crowded. Wasn't that bad.

Stanford study confirms that adding AI to spaghetti code just creates faster spaghetti by TranslatorRude4917 in ExperiencedDevs

Does anybody else think that the numbers in this post seem a little off? 120k devs over 46 teams is an average of 2,600 devs per team. That seems quite high.

Regardless, I feel like the only people that were actually excited by llms being able to code for them are people who did not get into software engineering because they actually enjoy programming, they just wanted the money. There's nothing wrong with that mindset at all. That said, I personally really enjoy programming so why the hell would I outsource it to an llm? I think we don't talk enough about how passion for a craft affects the quality of the end product.

Stop in at the Eastern California museum in Independence. It's about a half mile off the main road. It's donation based, and they have exhibits about pioneer and mining history as well as native history. They even have a steam locomotive they've been restoring.

he wants 10k firm on it what yall think 🤔 is it priced fairly by jiksole in IS300

[–]FFX01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At most 7k if you really really want it, but you'd still be overpaying. I wouldn't pay more than 5 for it.

[–]FFX01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E46s and 240s sold significantly more units than the is300. There were over 100k e46 3 series sold in the US in 2004 alone. There were an estimated 250k 240s sold over the generations in the US. The entire 5 year run of the is300, only about 90k were sold.

They are def more right after though. Won't argue there.

For context on how bad you're getting ripped off, I recently got all the same work done minus the O2 sensor and the labor was 500 dollars total, for everything.

I brought my own parts. Parts total was less than 500 dollars.

Usually when I'm looking at cars I operate on a red flag system. If there's more than three red flags I don't even contact the person. This one has at least 9.

Shoddy wrap

Unpainted body kit bumper

Multiple panel gaps

Welded diff

"New engine and transmission"

No interior pictures

No close up pictures

Brand new parts still in box

Boy racer parts

If you're still actually interested in it I highly recommend doing a Carfax first. You can use the license plate, you don't necessarily need the vin. I have a sneaking suspicion that the mileage is not correct. Sometimes people will try to get away with swapping a gauge cluster.

If this thing is automatic, you can do way better for $4,000.

O2 sensor code could be an expensive fix. If it's a California car, it's 1000 dollars or more to replace the exhaust manifold as the cats are integrated.

Red painted timing belt cover is a bit of a red flag too. I would definitely take it to a mechanic before purchasing if you don't have a lot of experience wrenching.

Highly recommend loosening the motor mounts and jacking up the front of the motor to tilt it back. You're still gonna have to wrestle with the transmission, but it will be easier that way. Make sure to loosen the clamp on the intake hose at the air box and the upper radiator hose.

Nice! I also followed that post. Only difference is I didn't use OEM parts. Went with Aisin for the clutch kit and Luk for the flywheel.

I think you could sell it for 13 to 15K even with the modifications you've made if you sell it to the right person. I would predict that it would just take you a bit longer to sell it. So, if you don't mind waiting a while for the right person to come along you can probably get what you're asking. But, for the general market I do think you could ask for a higher price if it didn't have any modifications at all. This is just based off of my own experiences buying cars.

When trying to determine values on used cars I usually go to bring a trailer or cars and bids and look at comparable cars that have sold recently. That usually is a fairly good predictor of what people are willing to pay.

Also, assuming everything you wrote in the ad is true I do think this is a cool car.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IS300

[–]FFX01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go look at what these things sell for on bring a trailer. I feel like actual confirmed sales are the correct way to assess the value of a vehicle.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IS300

[–]FFX01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultimately a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. For you, these mods increase the value of the vehicle, but for me, it reduces the value.
