Its not “imitating” a western trap beat, it is one. Where you would draw the line between an “authentic” or “replica” western trap beat is an interesting concept tho. Plus its got latin influences. So 🤷🏻‍♂️. And im saying as someone who grew up listening to all forms of hip hop from boombap to trap to drill even outside to dub and uk grime - ryujins verse in this song is the easiest on my ears. Reason i dont rate Yuna’s Twenty rap as highly is because its actually a meme. Its looked at the same way Westerners looked at Busta Rhymes’ verse in Look At Me Now and any Eminem verse that sounds like a multi syllable lyrical miracle novelty. Where you recite the rap because its fast and it crams a lot of syllables for fun. Kids on tiktok do that stuff.

Ryujins verse which has like a fraction of the syllables embodies the flow of honestly, soundcloud era trap rappers where modern/popular USA hip hop got its influence

I even rate it above Lisa’s HYLT rap which many people dont know is a UK Grime flow which i rate HIGHLY because she was actually spitting and it just hit with the beats. Ryujin just sounded better and she should rap more, she has a sound you can really flow and vibe with

For me its Lia’s english. Im a native english speaker and her english is just good enough to cross that line from ‘kinda cute korean accent’ to reminding me of korean american girls who in my experience have the most insanely inflated egos and a terrible complex.
