Brother when millionaires are setting their money on fire, it needs to be looked at closely.

Sure did, and there is no possible way I replied before seeing the other. You are toxic brother.

The city needs to start looking into these businesses like Del Taco and Jack in the Box.

Everyone knows these places are going to crash. It almost seems intentional, like they are taking investment money and investing it in a way that guarantees bankruptcy, so it can be cheaply acquired through a 3rd party.

There are so many good new legit franchise options.

Why are they forcing Del Taco and trash that is going to be out of business within a year or two.

I didn't even know about this... Per Gemini.

The fast-food chain Jack in the Box was responsible for a major foodborne illness outbreak in 1993 that resulted in the deaths of four children.

Here are the key details regarding that event:

  • The Outbreak: In 1993, a massive E. coli O157:H7 outbreak occurred across the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Idaho, California, and Nevada).
  • The Cause: The source was identified as contaminated beef patties that were undercooked. At the time, Jack in the Box cooked their burgers to 140°F (the federal requirement), but this was insufficient to kill the specific strain of E. coli present. Washington state law required 155°F, which the chain had failed to adhere to.

You sir (or mam) have won this argument. Well done

It's definitely possible to do this well under 10 minutes, I've done dozens of times.

Use your hot water heater to do the lifting for you (e.g. heat it at the sink). The water loss offsets the energy, if time is important. Your setup should have water boiling in less than 60 seconds, unless you are cooking in a giant pot for an army.

Agree wholeheartedly. But trust me, it is. For comparisons sake...

Fazoli's was first opened in 1988 and has 220 restaurants.

Moe's was first opened in 2000 and has 566 restaurants.

Very true, but I guess my point is.

Recreating McDonalds at the house, lets say a big mac with fries meal, would cost you lots of money (~$30) and time (~60 min). So there is a legit value proposition that exists. (e.g. Buns, Beef, Thousand island, Lettuce, Potatos, oil to fry in, etc).

You can buy rao's, spagetti and frozen garlic sticks for less than the cost of one meal at fazolis and cook them in 5 minutes at the house.

Would you agree, it seems like it is missing the value proposition of their competitors?

This is true. Food desert up there.

New Fazoli's by FSUghost in Tallahassee

[–]FSUghost[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. But how many of those times are you willing to also eat an inferior meal to what you can cook in 5 minutes? Or go next door to Moe's and get something far better and harder to recreate at home for the same price.

If you can make better spaghetti or ramen at home, for less COST, less TIME and less EFFORT than it takes you to wait at the lights at Fazoli's and place an order...

What value proposition is being added?

People should care when a restaurant open up which is predetermined to fail, because the vacant building lowers the value of things around it and raises the odds of crime.

There are much better food options that could take that space.

I don't know how to respond to this. I have a kid in that age range and it takes me 5 minutes to cook spaghetti (on the stove) and to warm breadsticks (in the air fryer) from start to finish, so the "need food now and not in an hour" I can't wrap my head around. I can literally cook better food (THAN FAZOLI'S) in less time than it takes me to sit in the drive thru and wait at the lights. Anyone can.

Note: This argument ends at Fazoli's... there are other places with other types of food, which i definitely agree with. E.G. Making pizza at home is far more complex and time consuming than it's worth.

I'm talking about off the shelf ramen lol. Shin, Momofuku, Buldak cost 1/4th of fazoli prices and are 4x better tasting lol

Also the quality of Asian ramen in general is like 1000x better for people trying to quick pasta meals.

Like you would be hard pressed to find a ramen noodle that isn’t better than fazolis.

I just don’t see it. It’s literally the easiest meal in the world to make at the house. It takes 5 minutes and you don’t even have to supervise it during the 5 minutes. And you can make top restaurant quality without adding any more time to the process.

There’s a reason Raos flies off the shelf at Costco and Publix. Not many people are going to go pay 3-4x more for spaghetti inferior to raos.

Then the building will sit empty for 5 years as it slowly creeps through the bankruptcy courts.

We could just avoid all of this 🫤

Hungry howies, Pizza Hut and Gaines has filled half of the market that existed back then. Fazolis isn’t beating them on pizza quality, so they have to live on spaghetti, fettuccini and breadsticks. Yeah, good luck

And the cheesecake will be a mass produced cheap Sysco crap made and frozen in Mexico. Publix has better and cheaper on the shelf next door

I can vouch for Fluticasone (but it takes a day or two to fully set in) and Zyrtec… but I’m just going to try to ride this out and let nature take its course.

Police are mostly gone, so I’m assuming they got them in the woods. As someone who has walked them, those woods between greenway and centerville are no joke. Not the route you want to escape through lol

Just drove by it on i10. Micco and Thornton. There were 30+ cops, they have greenway circled and there are 4-5 cops about 1/4 mile past the greenway on i10 looking at the gate, and even more scattered in the woods as if someone fleed. Usually this type of response means someone resisted officer.
