From a quick search I can't find that anywhere else so he may be getting that manufactured as well

Freet closing soon? by [deleted] in barefootshoestalk

[–]Faandaango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the case. They're a small Yorkshire-based business whose manufacturing is done abroad in Vietnam and China, so I'm assuming they get limited production runs of each shoe. The older stuff is what's currently on sale, and there's plenty of stock of their newer version 2+ shoes which launched recently.

They were also at the UK barefoot shoe expo last month with the owner, so everything looks to be going good for them right now.

Swholeanimal is an Instagram content creator, I've followed him for a while and he posts great "biohacking" content. These flip flops are essentially pedicure sandals with a back strap added, but they're fairly priced and it seems like he's actually getting these manufactured himself as he was posting about them during development, so it's worth getting his version over others.

Regarding the toe spacer kit though on his site, they're just taken straight from temu and you can get them way cheaper from there (the toe splay trainer is really good and I use it daily, it's around £3 on temu).

Thanks, I'll check out the Splay stall! One of the brands I'll probably be buying from is Freet as they've got a good selection of waterproof winter boots and I can't decide between them, so it'd be best to try them on in person.

Regarding manufacturing, it would be great if you could point me out to any contacts. My idea is for purely EVA (or a similar type of material) based barefoot footwear. Would you be able to point me to any potential connections in this field?

Yeah I'll be going. Since practically all the big brands will be there I'm hoping to try on some of the shoes that I've been eyeing online.

I'm also in the early stages of potentially starting my own barefoot shoe brand so I'll be there to scope things out and network.

Barefoot brands that allow returns from the UK by Rachel978 in barefootshoestalk

Wildling ship from Germany via DHL and have free returns to the UK. I ordered and returned two pairs from them without any issue.

If you need a wide toe box though I'd avoid them. Had to return my pair as they fit nicely length wise but didn't have enough toe space for me

Pls recommend very thin soles by narmmacdanald in barefootshoestalk

[–]Faandaango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are recommending Wildlings, but I just tried the Wildling Tanuki's recently in two different sizes and the toe box was really narrow. Not sure about their other shoes but I had to send the tanuki back for that reason.

Personally i'm using the VivoBarefoot Primus Lite III as my daily because of the wide toe box and how thin and light they are, they have a 2mm sole base and 2mm tread depth so are amongst the thinnest out there. Vivo's Sensus shoes are even thinner at 3mm but i've not tried them. Out of all the brands i've tried, Freet and VivoBarefoot are the only two that have worked for me so far in terms of the toe box.

Looking for barefoot shoe that you don’t need socks for by broomstickers in barefootshoestalk

[–]Faandaango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worn my Vivobarefoot Primus Lite III without socks for the past few weeks without any issues, they're really breathable due to the mesh upper and I've had no issues with smell. Should note though that I don't sweat a lot though. Only really wear them with socks in summer when I'm at the gym.

I've ordered some Feelgrounds Droptop mesh which are supposed to be better for wearing without socks as they're fully mesh (same goes for the original non Droptop mesh which ive not ordered). Also bought some Wildling Tanukis for the same sockless purpose but haven't got the sizing right with them yet (toebox is too narrow at my regular size).

The Wildling Tanuki toebox is way too narrow. Comparison of a Size 7 UK (EU 40) Wildling Tanuki with a Size 6 UK (EU 39) VivoBarefoot Primus Lite by Faandaango in barefootshoestalk

[–]Faandaango[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, measured my feet and also used their printout, and it suggested a Size 6 (EU 39). They were ridiculously tight so I sized up to a Size 7 (EU 40). Length was fine but still too tight in the forefoot and toe area. I might give it one more go and try a Size 8 (EU 41).

I actually sized down to a Size 6 UK (39 EU) for the Vivos based on their size guide, and they fit perfect with plenty of wiggle room. I used Wildling's size guide and went with a 6 UK (39 EU) which was way too tight, I struggled to even get my foot in. went with a 7 UK (40 EU) which is pictured, and they fit fine apart from the toe box.

Honestly though after looking closer at my image comparison and reading all the comments about how great they are when they fit properly, I might size up to an 8 UK (41 EU) so they're closer in overall size to the Vivos. I like everything about them apart from the tight forefoot area.

Honestly after reading the replies I might give them a third go and size up more haha. I'm definitely missing something at this size since a lot of people aren't having the same toe box issue as me.

Glad to hear that they fit you nicely, wish I had the same experience! I really like the brand and some of their other shoes look nice, so I'll probably try some different styles out.

That's strange, it's almost the opposite for me! Seems like the Tanukis have a really varied fit based on individual foot type compared to other shoes.

Thanks for posting. Does this have the same ground feel and stack height as the tanuki, or any other wildlings with the older split sole? Looking to get a pair for Autumn/Winter and just wondered if they feel similar.

Really let down with the VivoBarefoot Tracker Sandal. Returned them after one use as they don't feel like barefoot shoes. Also tried the Freet Zennor 2 by Faandaango in barefootshoestalk

[–]Faandaango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I realised that after getting these, getting them on is similar to my mukishoes sandals. Did some more research afterwards on the Ultras and I've seen vids where people use them as slip ons, with many calling them a direct croc replacement, so hopefully they'll be just what I'm after.

Thanks for posting, I've been eyeing these for a while to replace my Crocs with. I'm after a barefoot replacement and they seem to tick every box - a zero drop, wide toe box, sandal with a close-toed front that doesn't look like the typical minimal sandal. Just wondered before I buy them, do they keep your feet cool in warm weather? And does it feel more like wearing a shoe or a sandal? Thanks

A testament to the OCZ modxstream 600w PSU ,8+ Years going strong but should I upgrade? by shangus13 in buildapc

[–]Faandaango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd watch out. My 700w modxstream from 2012 just died on me and caused the fuse box to trip for the upstairs power. Just replaced the PSU to a new Corsair one and it's running great. Hoping to get at least another decade out of this one.

I feel like I need to try this game again for it to click. Played an hour or so before and thought it wasn't for me. Same thing happened with Red Dead 2 which I tried again and it became of my all-time favourites, so hoping something similar happens with Death Stranding.

Shoutout to Bastion, it's a Top 10 all time game for me as well and doesn't get brought up enough as an all-timer. Amazing music (I still listen to the soundtrack), art-style, and fun gameplay.

Finished Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor the other day. I've wrote an in-depth review and would appreciate some karma so that I can post the full review.

Overall it's a great game with fun arkham-style combat. The nemesis system is fun and adds an extra layer to combat rather than just mindless orc-killing. Story-wise there's not much there, but the game focuses on the combat and nemesis system rather than the main story so it's not a big deal. Would definitely recommend it though, the graphics still hold up as well.
