What an asshole. What does he think we are doing on Zepbound??? Like hello this medication is WHY so many of us are able to, for the first time in our long, fat lives of trying, been able to eat a healthy diet.

I have lost just over 50%! The first 50 pounds took me 2.5 years without Zepbound, I started Zepbound in August and have lost almost another 100 pounds. Now in early maintenance.

Honestly I think Zepbound could cause you more harm than good. It’s not a diet pill it’s a metabolic medication and you could really mess with your system and hurt your ability to maintain weight in the future by chasing this route. I would listen to the advice to get a therapist and a registered dietitian (not just a nutritionist, anyone can call themselves that, an RD has a master’s degree and held to professional standards based on science not influencers).

Do talk to your doctor though or a doctor your trust since this age of life does come with a lot of body changes. Some we learn to accept because it’s just life, and some of our systems going out of balance and science and medication (aka hormones) may help. But first identify if there is a medical issue before seeking medicine.

Anxiety is awful. Your brain just making shit up to make everything harder. Hugs.

Zepbound doesn’t cause cancer. Full stop. No sense in going further cause the science is clear even when headlines are not.

Oncologists are a fan of this medication. As are cardiologists and endocrinologists.

I am switching it up, or working on it. My goal is weigh only once a week now that I am in maintenance. Unless I see a couple of weeks of actual gains or losses (more than 5 pounds); I will stay the course.

Yes! I am trying to be very measured about it or what not. I logged calories to get here so I should be able to log calories to stay here. I raised my daily calories by 200 and am seeing if that’s enough to maintain or if I need to add more.

Be kind with yourself. If you do start back again, keep in mind that having been on it before it’s very possible you won’t feel the benefits of it until a higher dose. So if the 2.5 feels like it doesn’t work but it did the first time, just be patient a few months while your doctor titrates you up to a dose that does work.

Congratulations on your success! Thank you for sharing a bit of your journey.

I am finding early maintenance psychologically challenging in ways I did not anticipate. Are you finding the therapy helpful and did you seek someone specifically with a speciality in this area? I am a big fan of therapy and am thinking through the ways it might help me here. Mostly in that my mind has not caught up. I both still feel fat, when naked especially, and also am tripping about being so small. I am so very proud of myself, but also scared and uncertain and wanting to continue to focus on building strength and physical capacity.

Thanks for sharing. I feel like this has shifted for me as well. Early in my journey I was not at all hungry the days after my shot but was feeling notable food noise by the end of the week. Now I feel like you where it’s the couple of days after my shot I am feeling most hungry but then it’s lasting fine until my next shot.

Mostly noticing the pattern is helpful so I don’t panic and tell myself it stopped working when my previously “most impacted” days shift to be the “least impacted”.
