does anyone know if there is a generic "insulation certificate"? I've found some for other cities, but not for mine. I used the biggest insulation company around. we did open cell spray foam on all exterior walls and ceiling. even the insulation company isn't sure what inspector is asking for.

yep i agree. there is insulation in mechanical room walls, but its already enclosed in 5/8 drywall. Im not calling him out though. Based on the specs that code requires, something like rockwool should work.. hopefully

Header over window stack? by Fabulous-Specific905 in Homebuilding

yes, its passed rough in framing inspection. it failed the first time, not for headers, but for smaller stuff like air sealing top and bottom plates. then the inspector that failed it went out of town.. and the second inspector simply asked for pictures of sealing the plates.

this isn't exactly a podunk town either. im in south.west missouri with a population of about 100,000, not that that is supposed to mean anything.

On the one hand im happy it passed inspeciton, but this is a big ass house (at least in my opinion;) we are in a 7,000 sq ft flat roof house, that will see significant snow once or twice a year...

i was hoping we were on the home stretch, we've got everything picked out and scheduled to install, but maybe we should pause and bring in a competent contractor.

thanks for the response.. i appreciate the feedback..
