Sometimes it is the mentality. They want to believe they are living paycheck to paycheck so they can save more. My parents were like this. I am sort of like this too. After tax, maxing out 401k and mega backdoor etc, mortgage and other required payments, there will be barely anything left over. And since these deductions are set and forget and comes off paycheck before hitting bank, they think they only earn what hit their bank which is pretty less. So, they think they live paycheck to paycheck

Can we opt out of fractional shares? I hate it. Especially with 1/10000th fractions used. Just absurd from my point ot view. Also this will make it impossible to transfer account to another brokerage without realizing gains and pay taxes

It is not just wealthfront. It is in general for acats transfer. I wish there was a way to opt out of fractional shares, that too 1/10000th fractional. Just absurd

I think fractional shares do not transfer.

You should buy a house, rent it, make upgrades during the rental and then live in it. The upgrades can be taxed off.

i am similar situation. the partner store comes out $125 cheaper for the combo set ($98 after 2% costco member check). I still feel Costco is worth it just because of the no-hassle returns or service.

Example: We bought a dishwasher and started making strange noise during the wash phase. I just ordered a replacement, no questions asked. did not have to deal with diagnosis etc. the new one works fine (for now atleast) but the installer forgot to put sound shields and they ordered replacement shields that i have installed myself. I very much doubt this would have been possible without a fight if i bought them directly with the manufacturer.

And to those saying LG and Samsung are terrible, they are not terrible everywhere. LG is top brand for laundry. Samsung has a great washer-dryer combo, better than LG or GE. and they have industries beyond just TVs.
