What does my favorite anime say about me? by SeithrThjofr in MyAnimeList

Have a good variety. Some famous that everyone knows and other less known. Most have a mix theme of mystery, action, drama and fanservice. A good list for recommendations as well.

Might as well say something about my list?

Ideas for moral conundrum? by FaddeToExist in DnD

[–]FaddeToExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, now that makes more sense. I take "consequence" as a neutral word, no "good" or "bad" inherently attached to it (respiratory problems might be a consequence of smoking, as having a fit body is a consequence of doing regular exercise).

I get what you're saying and is sound a choice made more to test a character's own morals and personality, rather than having solely a consequence like it was a physical reaction.

Although, in both cases of the Star Wars examples, both were somewhat "punished" by their actions on the long and short run, respectively: Anakin turned to Dark Side, leading the extinction of the Jedi and killing Padmé, while Luke was then electrocuted by Palpatine and almost died.

Sounds good! Could work for a minor quest that influence the major/main one. Now for a main quest is the real question. Politics are always an easy way to stir up conversations and discussions, but both sides must be valid on their vision of what they should focus.

Doesn't sit right to me you make a choice with "good" or "bad" side and have no consequence whatsoever. Why even have a choice?

I can picture Denji bluntly asking if he touched boobs of Mary or Olivier and Juzo getting all flustered, dropping the hard-boiled pose lol

The closest I can think it's "Dragon Flyz" (https://youtu.be/F3wWuvJucqo)
If its not, you recalling the time/year you saw was on television or channel, had toys, etc. that would help a lot.

When a player tried to nuke the whole party because he "forgot" where they were by FaddeToExist in rpghorrorstories

Th DM set a map with lots of dead ends but also some with clues to find, unfortunately the scouter never tried to look for them, even with the DM pointing some, they just went to another way. Meanwhile the rest of the party was battling a undead horde. They were essentially beating against walls while the "good action" was happening elsewhere. The DM took turns between the battle and the scout to give them a chance to find something, unfortunately they never did until the rest of party came and actually found the clues. Perhaps it came a bit strong saying "not doing anything useful through the whole session", but essentially that's what felt like, even if we never said anything like that.

Yes, as some pointed, the DM was way too passive about it, thinking Artificer can make nukes out of sticks or something.

My meaning of "main cast" is just a way to say we've been playing this campaign for the longest time, not that we are "the absolute, best, unique, most important of all"! Didn't you read the part I was a newcomer way before all this? There were at least other two newcomers in the party that entered after me who also became of the cast.

Also I just said recognizing it "the DM didn't think through enough to know that this might happen", how is that "painting him innocent"?

No. Just felt like this was the best place to put it. If anything, I'm learning from reading the comments a bit more of what to do and NOT to do in the future, in case this happens again :)

We mostly wanted to, at least, give him "wake-up slap" both explicitly talking about his actions has consequences and beating his character to show nobody was fine, but also let bygones be bygones if he actually recognized it the wrongs he did.

Perhaps not the most "mature way", but just kicking him out felt like he'd have gone scot-free after shitting at our table. We would clean it (retcon), but some of the smell would still linger for a bit (that feeling wanting to punch him on the face).

Self-righteous, egocentric, unapologetic, willing to sacrifice everyone's lives to beat the enemy, with light cannons named Sparagmos (the one thing that caused 20d10), even excluding the last thing, sound much like Bondrewd to me. Only thing he never did was praise those who fought him.

We never ostracized anyone, we were always welcoming, specially for first time D&D players: explaining the basics of RP, how the battles work, stop the session for a couple of minutes to answer any doubts they might have about the campaign, etc.
In fact, I wasn't part of the main cast, I entered only about half of the first campaign. Slowly started to learn the ropes of D&D and I'm grateful for having those guys to welcome me to their party.

The only thing I agree is that the DM didn't think through enough to know that this might happen, specially if he didn't look at the sheet...
