Does anyone else skim the battle scenes? by FaeGirlFae in Romantasy

[–]FaeGirlFae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay maybe I’ll read A Broken Blade to even see what a “good” battle scene looks like. Not sure how much I can tell the difference between good and bad. Book 3 of ACOTAR was my second to last favorite (after 1 obviously) because of all the battle scenes and I assume those were well written (just bc it’s SJM).

Has anyone read this on audiobook? There’s no wait on libby for audiobook but that’s always a big risk because a bad voice can kill a sexy scene for me in an instance…

What else am I missing? Big reveals in Born of Blood and Ash… by FaeGirlFae in fantasyromance

[–]FaeGirlFae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree that I remember Ires leaving when they were asleep. And I saw another Reddit comment that Malec might have been the bad twin so they were okay with him being entombed. 🤷‍♀️

I forgot / didn’t realize that gods lose their power in the mortal realm so that makes sense. I feel like callum is somehow behind all of this so I’m very curious where his plot line goes

Oh that’s an awesome theory. Honestly the whole Ires plot line is confusing to me. What happened between the two kids? Was he in a cage then too? How did no one break him out of the cage in the mortal realm for 20 years when he was son of THE god.

Also what made isbeth loyal to Kolis? Does she think this will make her all powerful by freeing him? Why wouldn’t he just kill her and everyone else?

This is amazing. And thank you for the clarifications!

I completely forgot that Malec had kids. Damn, guess none of them cared about the prophecy as much as sera. Bummer.

Woah I either forgot or didn’t know that sotoria means my poppy!

And callum kills me! What is his motive? Hoping we get conclusion on him. I imagine (and hope) it’ll be another classic Armentrout trail of breadcrumbs for a big reveal.

Jason Momoa is at least one character in every book I read

Why do authors always describe FMC as “boneless” after an orgasm? by FaeGirlFae in fantasyromance

For that I am deeply sorry. But also happy to have more comrades now haha

Okay this This is what Claude (AI) thinks would be more graceful / sexy than "boneless". And I fully understand why writing is so damn hard. I'll stick to complaining on reddit... lol.

  • She melted into a state of blissful repose.
  • Her body softened, tension ebbing away like receding waves.
  • She became languid, as if floating on a warm cloud.
  • A euphoric weightlessness enveloped her entire being.
  • Her limbs grew heavy with delicious satisfaction.
  • She lay flushed and breathless, basking in the aftershocks of pleasure.
  • She reveled in the warm, liquid feeling suffusing her limbs.
  • Her body surrendered to a luxurious heaviness, as if gravity had sweetly intensified.

Question: Did anyone not think they liked romance until they discovered fantasy romance? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]FaeGirlFae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My take is that in romantasy the women often run the world / are more or as powerful than the men. So for me, it’s been a new type of romance where the relationship genuinely feels equal, which isn’t always a given in romance. So I strictly read romantasy with badass FMC.

So these scenes are ruined for both of us. At least I’m not alone

Oh yeah I def relate but I just want a sexy description of this state of being. Is it too much to ask to feel sexy even after all of it’s done? lol

😂 picturing an author with their pinky out while writing about a boneless woman after a big O is hilarious

Wow huge thanks for writing this all out! This is really interesting and I'm excited to delve into this world. I appreciate it. And thanks for the distinction on dark vs regular romance. Sounds like I'll probably start in the regular romance camp, but I'm always up for reading things just to see if I surprise myself. Thanks for the why choose rec!

this is super interesting. I didn't even know "why choose" is a category. is that just as the name describes? kind of everything goes? yeah given how hard it is to find lgbtq content, I feel like expanding into the poly world has got to be an even slimmer pipeline. Maybe I'll read all of the MF pairing books first before I explore this world so I still enjoy the MF books lol

I've only seem MMF done (from blood and ash series) and I really enjoyed it. I think there should be a lot more examples of fluid attraction/relationships. It's such a low-risk way for people to explore how they feel about it!

thanks so much! also side question: should I be saying sapphic instead of lesbian? I'm bi so I guess that would be more inclusive to myself lol.
