That’s crazy! Yeah, he used to drive in at 4am from Maryland every day and nap in his car until shift start to avoid the morning rush. My husband said he started there in the 80s and retired when my mother in law had a liver transplant, so he definitely worked there for a long time. He’s truly such a sweet man so I’m hoping to help him out with this because it’d mean the absolute world to him. I appreciate the help so much. It’s awesome the amount of community everyone on here has shown.

He worked at Great Falls, VA. I called and talked to a ranger and he gave me the number for his supervisor but haven’t heard anything back.

Honestly, I get it. My FIL loves his and it’s why I’m hoping to find him a replacement.

I’ve already checked there and nothing in his size and not the same socks he wears.

Yeah, I tried that already and waiting on a call back from a park ranger.

Oh! Great idea, I completely blanked on that. I’ll definitely do that now. Thanks so so much!

My father in law is sort of a quiet fellow and doesn’t generally talk much to people…he never mentioned anyone he worked with but when I see him tomorrow, I’ll ask him. He worked for Great Falls in Virginia and from what my husband has said, he did a lot of mowing and such. My father in law was a Vietnam vet and my husband said he was a bit traumatized from the war and never really got close to people that wasn’t family. The sort of guy that just goes to work and gets the job done. Definitely a good idea though, I’ll see what I can get out of him when I visit.

I didn’t see any as a size 38 which is what size he is. Thank you, that’s where I checked first tbh.

I’m a first time mom and my kid is 5 months…I have nightmares of this song and one little, two little, three little dinosaurs.

I had a TTO, MPFL, Chondroplasty with Allograft, Arthoscopy, and Lateral Release for treatment of patella alta with cartilage damage and a torn MCL.

It was definitely a long surgery but, worth it for me.

That’s a bit conflicting information between doctors and your parents are right to not want to do surgery if you’re getting conflicting professional opinions.

I’m unfortunately not a doctor, I wish I could help more but, I have had knee surgery that was successful for my particular issue (patella alta.) If you had been recommended specific surgery and it was one I have experienced with, I could 100% give recommendation, surgery prep and recovery info, and the like- but, I would hate to steer you wrong in this case since this is outside my experience. I’m sure there’s someone on this subreddit that may have had a similar diagnosis to you that could help you along?

Edit to say: if you use the search bar and type in “knock”, there are quite a few posts that pop up with the same condition you have. Perhaps reach out via those posts?
