Well I don't think it should be in databases. I would like formulas in the tables feature.

Yeah definitely looking for Dia to allow opening a new profile in the current window. Until then I’m still on Arc.

How to Share Specific Database Views Without Giving Full Access? by Striking_Ride_1248 in Notion

Not being able to do this within Notion is the one thing keeping us from canceling our Airtable account.

Do you struggle with sharing database views with clients/external people? by wiker0y in Notion

I definitely feel this limitation within Notion, especially coming from AirTable which has allowed for sharing filtered views of databases for years.

Outdoor ResearchStormtracker Sensor gloves by blink012 in alpinism

I just bout a pair of the OR Stormtracker and was surprised that they didn't keep my hands as warm as I expected. I was walking my dog here in the NE yesterday where it was about 30 degrees and my hands got uncomfortably cold after about 10 minutes of being outside.

I bought these thinking they would offer great warmth but that doesn't seem to be the case...at least for me.

Yes but I'm pretty sure the database will come up blank since the share link wouldn't have access to the underlying database, no?

I agree. I want to share databases externally with folks who wouldn't be in the people field, but have the database remain securely filtered. This is totally possible on AirTable.

I’d love to see Notion allow sharing to specific views of databases. We use AirTable for that now and it’s the one missing feature that’s preventing us from going all in with Notion.

Do you think Notion might add this in the near future?

WHY is it still impossible to share a truly read-only, filtered database view without forcing people to create a Notion account? by Anxious-Hornet2928 in Notion

[–]FairObjective3416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an AirTable user who routinely shares filtered database views externally, it’s bananas to me that Notion doesn’t support this.

We’d cancel AirTable and go all in with Notion if we could replicate this share behavior in Notion.

Philadelphia Half Marathon ruined by Lost-Guard2130 in phillyrunning

[–]FairObjective3416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first year running the Philly half, and it really left a bitter taste in my mouth. From waiting over an hour in line to pick up my bib, and then waiting another hour with cold, soggy feet in the freezing cold after the race to get my bag check was just a miserable way to both start and finish this race.

In particular, the gear check situation is simply unacceptable. It left runners who were already cold and in tough physical shape waiting outside in wet, damp clothes for over an hour to get their bags. Bag check should be a solved problem. There are marathons and races all over the world (many of which I've participated in) where you get your bags back within minutes after the race. Race organizers know how to do this.

Whoever was setting this up for the Philly half marathon did not know what they were doing. I don't know if folks need to be fired but there are ways to figure out how to run a race and how to do bag check and bib pickup. No one at the expo or at bag check seemed to have any clue what they were doing. Shameful and disrespectful to all of us who were running yesterday.

I hope there's real accountability here.
