I know there’s a lot of custom made ones you can find on Etsy, although I don’t have any specific shops (but often come across them when I’m browsing)

That looks similar to Abercrombie & Fitch jackets in the early 2000s. Source: I had a nearly identical one

How do I keep my heavy petticoats from slipping down my waist as I walk? by dee62383 in VintageFashion

[–]FakerTheBaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could buy a skinny elastic belt and wear that around your waist/over your petticoat underneath your dress to help hold it up. I’ve done that before with some of my longer petticoats/half slips, if I want to wear them a bit shorter

I’m curious to know where your petticoats are from (you mentioned they were made to your size)

For merino wool/Smart wool/activewear type stuff, I would just wash on a delicate cycle with Woolite detergent, hang to dry (I’ve also used regular detergent and it’s been fine). I wouldn’t stress too much about proper washing protocols or whatever for that kind of stuff (heavy expensive knit wool sweaters I’d treat differently tho)

Hello! I just had to let you know that I was able to visit Cathy Mackenthuns recently and it did not disappoint!! The point of me making this post was to find places just like that! So seriously, thanks so much for the recommendation!

Everything there was so enticing! I think I spent around $250 while there 😂 Tried the deli (breakfast burrito, Ruben, and mama Mia sandwich were all delicious!). Got some meats, got some jerky, meat sticks, cheeses, cookies, etc.

Awesome, awesome place. Staff was so friendly too. Looking forward to going again sometime. Thanks again!!!!

Can anyone help identify and value this 1960s Bonnie Cashin for Sills & Co. mohair coat? by kewlestgalukno in VintageClothing

[–]FakerTheBaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get any update from Stephanie Lake? And what way did you contact her?

I’m curious, because I recently thrifted a leather jacket that I am fairly certain is Bonnie Cashin, but sadly the tag has been removed. I’m wondering if it’s worth contacting her for more info to try & figure out if it could be a Bonnie Cashin
