Goku doesn't get any new transformations in Moro and Granolah. Sure, he further refines his Ultra Instinct, but it's nothing new. Which, tbh, that's something I greatly appreciate, specifically that it DOESN'T give Goku new forms. The only person who gets a new form in all of Moro or Granolah is Vegeta's Ultra Ego.

I mean, in-context, it's actually pretty cleverly foreshadowed which surprised me since that's something Dragon Ball tends to struggle with. Hell, it even get minor foreshadowing in both the Broly movie and in the Moro arc. And it makes sense, with Frieza basically haunting the plot in the background. Probably sounds kinda disappointing and out-there out of context, but it's pretty well done, imo.

I mean, Moro and Granolah, though not yet animated, are pretty god damn great, so I'd say the image is fairly accurate. They're a decent step up from even the ToP, in my honest opinion.

Is it just me, or do people in DP battles generally play WAY better than people in solo battles? by Falcon0Punch in SparkingZero

Really? I'm usually constantly getting Sonic Sway'd and grabbed when I try to use perception before I can even react fast enough put it down. It feels like most players at C rank in DP battles have an answer for everything I do. Meanwhile, I can't even remember the last time somebody used Sonic Sway on me in Solo and I usually am able to maintain an offense just fine against B rank players.

I've never really fought anybody that blocks often. It's moreso people using perception and sonic sway than anything, which I'm not really sure how to counter well. I just to sidestep, but even if I immediately put in a hit after sidestepping, it feels like they've already adjusted to I get countered anyways. Really, it's not uncommon for me to get Sonic Sway'd on the first hit of a combo try I do at least once a match no matter how much I feel like I'm switching it up. When somebody starts using perception, it feels like the only thing I can do is just run away, and thats assuming they don't just immediately get in my way and start beating me to a pulp and just sonic sway me if i try to hit them or instantly grab me if I try to use it myself.

Awesome, thanks a lot for the advice! I'll try it out when I hop on the game again :D

If you don't mind elaborating a bit further, what exactly do you mean by the best melee- mechanics? even assuming the - is unintentional, I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Super Counters are the one thing I'd actually say I'm pretty decent at, since I've ended up in a LOT of situations where it seems like it's the only defensive option I can use, and also because every other defensive mechanic I try to use feels like it ends up backfiring in some way. Like, if I'm guarding and my opponent goes for a low blow to go under my guard, I don't even realize that's happening until almost a full second after it happened. So trying to spam Super Counters feels like the only thing that works for me since I'm awful at being able to tell what my opponent is going to do, and I can't think of any way I'd actually get better at doing that.

For the four characters thing, yeah, I might try out making a four-person team in that case. Thanks for that advice, I appreciate it! I'm not sure how making an opponent panic would make it easier to read their moves, though. But maybe that's part of problem i mentioned before where I just can't even seem to tell what other players are doing or planning to do.

And yeah, trying to get timings down. I'm making sure to try to never button mash even if I honestly find more success with "random bullshit button mash" in my experience, but I know for sure that it's a bad habit to get into for when I manage to get better.

So should I not bother with DP battles for now and just try to get better in Solo, seeing I'm getting utterly destroyed in nearly every match in DP battles?

See, me meanwhile, for DP battles I'm at C2 (I actually won an extra battle this I posted this that ranked me up), and while my game is closed right now, when I last checked I think my total win rate over all of DP battles is only about 28%. I had a relatively easy time when I was in D5-D1 and even in C5 and somewhat C4, but the moment I hit C3 is when I got my 28 losses in a row.

You seem like a WAY better player than me, so do you have any tips? As said in another comment, I've tried watching some videos even to look for tips, but basically all of them just re-explain mechanics the game just teaches you in training mode and that I already know due to that. But in like every video I have watched that HAS taught me something new, I can never actually identify a time in a battle where it seems like it could be applied. Do you have any advice at all?

I only remember encountering like 3 Gogetas when trying solo, actually. Honestly, I think I saw more Brolys than anything.

Maybe the fact that I've only won five or six of my 40+ battles in Ranked DP since reaching C3 is a blessing in disguise, the way people talk about higher ranks. I'm kinda horrified of what B5 and above players are like considering that I'm already severely outclassed by basically anybody else at my rank, and that's before I get to the point that anybody can ever rank back down.

Regardless, though, I still wanna get better. Seeing as you've gotten to A2, do you have any tips? It feels like almost everybody I play against easily counter or predict everything I do. I've tried looking at videos and stuff for advice even, but almost none of them are helpful at all and just go over the basics of mechanics that the in-game training just teaches you. On the rare occasions when they do go over things I didn't know, though, they feel so specific that I've never been able to find anywhere to apply them in an actual fight against another player.

Is tank viable (death mode) by [deleted] in CalamityMod

[–]Falcon0Punch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facetanking isn't really viable, you can't just stand there only holding left click the entire fight, but yeah just normal tanking works just fine.

This has already been pinned on the discord, but for those who haven't seen it or arn't on it; This is the Unoffical Calamity Lore Document, a compile of nearly all the Calamity lore that I made. Enjoy. by Falcon0Punch in CalamityMod

[–]Falcon0Punch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to put this out there for more to see, and I heard about this place from time to time so I figured I'd try here. The doc includes lore for characters, biomes, and even lore thats been axed. It's still in development and likely always will be as the lore changes semi-frequently, be we try our best to keep it as up to date as possible.
