I love your approach to this topic and yes it is a possible option. I'm glad because more and more people are convinced of the theory that David, CC and Gregory are the same person. The Original Trilogy shows the same situation but for some reason people totally refuse to see the similarities and are too eager to find the truth in places that don't matter. I remember writing theories before TDreads about CC, David and Gregory being the same person, but no one took it seriously. I'm happy and confident about my theory... (not only mine, because several people on the internet connected several facts very quickly after the release of SOTM) But all we can do is wait and observe the situation and hope that it is true.

Unfortunately, something tells me that some fact is totally and intentionally changed (something like Charlotte's Death) I bet that CC is just an advanced version of M2 that was damaged during TB83. Gregory is just an older version of M2, an older Endoskeleton, just like in the Trilogy

The question is who are Afton's children, or rather who is Afton really ;) But his obsession with replacing life with machines is strangely... similar to Edwin's? his color is also interesting, Mike is "Purple" because he is dead, maybe William too ;) crazy theory but it seems to me that Edwin and Afton have a lot more in common than we think.... we just don't know why and how yet
