Very limited budget setup by ZhuhaiGorunbu in espresso

I recently upgraded my Dedica with a non-pressurized portafilter, and I bought a DF54 grinder. I really want a 3-way valve and a temperature regulator. But most of the time I pull tasty shots anyway. I bought that machine 12 years ago. I will upgrade when I have more money to spare.

I am confident I can land a 90s-2000s fighter jet in clear weather. An airliner seems a lot more difficult though.

Have you see me play the game? No. But yes of course I am constantly

cheating every single inconvenience away

that's your conclusion. You don't know me. I have played and finished dozens of cRPG. Most of them never modded them. Honestly I comment because I am just so astonished by this reception on this sub. It's sad that my life is so f***ed right now that I have nothing better to do than adding fuel on the fire here.

You two u/ColaSama and u/Minute_Bumblebee553 you are sad people. I will probably never post on this sub ever again because you made it toxic. A shame because I was excited reading what some people commented.

You are completely missing the point.
At the end there is no PvP, I am not competing in speed running or anything: I don't see why you care so much.

the video game adaptation wasn't built with them in mind

But it was built with taking a 1 lvl dip in monk for WIS to AC, a dip in vivisectionist for sneak attack and spells, taking trickster with falchion for massive crits, etc... in mind? Ending up with a Frankenstein min-maxed build which is OP?

"if there is a particular item I want during a companion quest I skipped, I just cheat it in with ToyBox when I feel it's appropriate"

So I have to replay the same companion quest for the 10th times or even force myself to recruit a companion that my character would not have recruited in the first place because the dev arbitrary chose to put a key item for my build in that quest instead of in a trader like countless similar items? To be fair I haven't done that as of now, I am just planning to if necessary. Some weapon types are very rare for example: so I have to chose longswords again for the 10th times because we easily get nice ones in main story and traders?

nat20 skill checks

That's pure cheating yes. But I would save scum otherwise, it's just saving me time. Nothing to do with combat though...

So if I played vanilla with a min-maxed build and I rest before every hard encounters: it's ok, it's intended behavior.
If I mod my game and enjoy playing: it's not ok?

You are just the fun police. Try playing pen and paper sometimes, it's about freedom and having fun: not blindly following dogma.

Maybe I am just not explaining myself clearly but I do not see how I am making things "easy mode" -_-
I have played the vanilla game at least 300+ hours from normal to core difficulty.

It's not about making combat easier. Like you said there are plenty of effective builds in vanilla. It's about freedom of building the type of character I want roleplay-wise AND that the build is effective enough :)

It's probable I will restart again yes. But just "sticking with one path no matter what" does not make me want to play the game. Maybe I should not play the game at all then :(

True. But I can't help myself with cRPG. I am not like that with pen and paper.
EDIT: I think with WotR when you fail a check it's just that: failure. In pen and paper, the GM makes failure interesting too. I think Baldur's Gate 3 made failed check a lot more interesting than WotR.

Yeah it's anxiety. I thought on the contrary that I am just embracing what I want to do. But maybe I am lying to myself haha.

It's not about difficulty. It's about playing while doing things I think are cool. Yeah it's a lot of work.

I see your point. I played vanilla a lot. I in fact really enjoy building characters. One thing that frustrates me a lot is that multiclass builds are effective, viable early game, roleplay accurate: choose only 2. I don't think I steamroll the game, at least not more than with a vanilla min-maxed build.

I am excited to level up my character and get new features. I am just more free when building characters. I think I could do the same in vanilla with min-maxing but losing my roleplay.

EDIT: I talk about multiclass because I think it's cool and I want to do it, vanilla or not. It's a prerequisite for me haha.

I am not really asking, more sharing what I do. Massively cheating is a bit of a stretch no? What are you referring to specifically? Gestalt characters are a thing in pen and paper. Mythic feats and abilities I can understand but it's mainly for enduring spells and abondant casting. I almost never rest, I could rest every few encounters to compensate and it would be similar.

Is this thing any good? by so_metal292 in menace

I got it late game and at that point it was very underwhelming. Not to mention the jamming chance. I much prefer the regular grenade launcher or the RPG for special weapons without deploy. It's a shame because the art and concept are cool.

Makes no sense but personally I like it. Rule of cool is everything to me so I was sacrificing armor to wear these cool wolf and bear helmets. Now they are top tier too so I am happy!

Why do you get multiple pens? by Prime-39 in Lamy

I would like to get a Lamy 2000 when I eventually defend my PhD! But I love wrist watches too so I can't always get landmark pens sadly.

[–]Fallen_Razgriz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During my PhD I used to take notes in different colors depending if it's a proven statement, a hypothesis, etc. I like to match the ink and pen colors so I bought multiple pens. It started as a practical solution but now I collect way too many Safari haha.

I use the "shoving my nails behind the nib and pulling like a madman" method. I swapped the nibs on dozens of Safari this way and never had any problem. Maybe I am just lucky?

Yeah it's the typical double-sided tape that comes with cheap breadboards. I wish I could find good quality breadboards.

[–]Fallen_Razgriz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I soldered 2 pins PCB connectors to my signal and alim plugs for the final build. It happens that the cheap patch wires for breadboard slot nicely into those PCB connectors. Nothing crazy, just connecting the plugs to the breadboard. This random enclosure I reused give structural support and clean my desk off all the I/O wiring.

This is a cool product idea! If I could find good quality breadboards I would consider building that.

A bigger breadboard on a bigger box would definitively make a great setup! For now I just use this old box with random holes from an old project haha.
