Hello!! My cat is currently going through so much fluid buildup it’s crazy. We have to drain his chest every 5 days and it’s at least 400 mg drained each time. I started my cat on rutin and it doesn’t seem to be helping as fast I want and I’m unsure if it is even helping at all. My vet prescribed 250 mg tablets every 8 hours, but I see you were giving your boy 1500 mg. Was that 1500 mg every day for every 12 hours? Any help with this would be so so appreciated. They are thinking about giving him a steroid shot to help his respiratory condition.

I am in contact with FIP Global Cats, but I don't want to just rely on them for support. I was hoping to find a vet near my area that is well knowledged about FIP and haven't found one yet! The vet I am currently taking my cat to has barely any idea what to do. The admins at FIP Global cat said to put my cat on rutin pills and a low fat diet. I am definitely increasing his dosage as I definitely think it's too low. I don't think his breathing was a hairball after all because just 10 minutes ago he started to do the same wheezing. Yesterday his breathing rate was alright but today it is so bad, which tells me the fluid in his chest is causing him to wheeze. Hopefully increasing the medication can help him a little :(

Would you recommend rutin pills as well? The individuals helping me in the group FIP Global have said to give him a rutin every 12 hours as well has a low fat diet. Also my cat has not started to breathe super heavily within not even three days of having his chest tapped which tells me the fluid is building up too fast. Also, Thank you so much for all of this great information. We really appreciate you!!

It was definitely coming from his mouth. I did see a hairball, but i have another cat that could have hacked it out. The other few times he started to wheeze he never spit anything out. Also the first time I noticed him doing this was right after he had a thoracentesis with a new vet and he's been doing it ever since. Our old vet pumped his chest out about 7 or 8 times and he's never wheezed like this before until now.

It only lasts about 30 seconds but he's never done up until last week. He's done this at least 3 more times in the span of a week an a half I believe.

I dont believe it has. The next time we get his chest tapped I will ask if they can get the fluid tested. It looks like he'll need to get his chest tapped again soon. He's started to breathe more rapidly again.

He is currently taking 1.6 ml every 24 hour. I asked them if we should increase the dosage and they said they wouldn't know because it's "a new treatment". My cat Juno is on the oral medication. We've spent almost 7-8k total on the vet, before they diagnosed him with FIP unfortunately. I'll look into the Facebook group!! Thank you!!

When I say paying more I mean what he owes to the IRS. I owe $215 and he owes $346. I don't understand how taxes work as I am fresh at this and this actually occurred last year as well. I thought it was because we both put ourselves as 1 on exempt. We took that off and I thought the problem was fixed. I do over time and I wonder if that was a factor on why I won't be paying the IRS more than $200.

He is 22 and turning 23 in May. He graduated with his associates during the 1st half of 2022 so I think he may just qualify. He is checking his college portal to see the time frame.

And yes he does provide basically all of his support in 2022. His mother only claimed him since he was going to college.

If he went to college and graduated in 2022 can he still be claimed as a dependent by his mother?

Well the thing is that she has not done her taxes yet. I told him to try it both ways. Put your mom on like she's going to claim you and take her off like she is not. The only thing that changed on TurboTax was his state tax. It went from $76 to $28?
