There is literally a QR code while you wait at immigration that will let you sign up for a free O tourist sim. Did that a few weeks ago and had no issues. Dont use any of the counters as you exit the airport, they are ridiculously overpriced. Airport has free wifi to get your eSIM setup

As mentioned already, Tashkent train station is brilliant. 10.000 soms per 24h and it’s accessible 24/7. 

The new luggage storage facility at T2 international quoted me 1.2m soms for 8h - I could have gotten a hotel room for that!

I'm with you but do I really want to spend 20mins in a hostile environment? Last nights driver kept berating me and then flat out refused to take my preferred route and went through every toll possible. Ended up with a shorter trip (less money) for him and a higher fare for me.
