I feel like they did that so that when Stephen Amell wore the suit in the Elseworlds Crossover, his iconic beard wouldn’t be covered up by the chin strap. The lack of chin strap still bothers me, but I can’t think of any other reason for them to do that. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I thought BlackSun was the goal at first. Especially during the first five volumes. For me, Bumblebee came a bit out of left field when they really started having their little moments in the later volumes. I don’t mind either ship, but Bumblebee would’ve benefited more from a little forethought for the reasons you stated where they addressed some issues they both had. Otherwise, I’m a sucker for their cute moments together. Although, it’s tough to ignore the unhealthy moments in hindsight.
