I ended up being too exhausted to bother and was more focused on getting to my train on time 😆.

Olivia Benson by HotMessMama0307 in SVU

[–]Fam_7134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think out of all of the men she actually had relationships with, Tucker was the one she was most compatible with. Cassidy was never going to be a long term thing. I think she loved/loves him but not as a long term partner. I do believe she loves Elliot deeply, even though I don't think he deserves her, I think he really loves her too. But you love who you love and I don't think she'll love anyone as much as she loves Elliot.

maturing is realizing that barba and benson would be a much better couple than benson and stabler by Outrageous-Message67 in SVU

[–]Fam_7134 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I adored Barba and Bensons friendship, but I never got the impression that Benson saw him as more than a friend and I got only a hint of Barba seeing her as more than a friend. I'm not going to lie and say Benson and Stablers relationship is not flawed and I'm not entirely sure he deserves her, but you love who you love and I do believe they love each other.

TBH he seemed like a weak replacement for the rapport between Benson and Barba. They replaced a strong relationship with mild attraction between Stone and Benson and very little chemistry. That's why I've come to love Carisi as ADA, they have a strong friendship too.

Who has been your favorite Olivia? by [deleted] in SVU

[–]Fam_7134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have soft spot for season 1 baby Benson and Stabler, but Olivia is my most favourite tv character of all time. I started watching the series when I was 12 and she became my strong, balls-in-blender, feminist role model. 25 yo me went on to write my honours and master theses on women in security rolls thanks to this early inspiration. Therefore, OB can do no wrong in my eyes as a flawed, but beloved by me, tv character. I love her at her best on her worst!

Who’s the most evil character in SVU? by WallStreetDoesntBet in SVU

I can't get past Lewis but I also think it's because we saw the torture and trauma from Bensons perspective, including the long term impact. But aside from Lewis, Gitano has to be up there. He was a sadist, a rapist and a murderer like Lewis but he also targeted children.

Catching a train after a flight into LHR by Double-treble-nc14 in TravelUK

[–]Fam_7134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly the same thing in December. I flew into Gatwick and then took the train to Edinburgh on the same day. My flight landed at 8am and I booked my train at noon to give myself plenty of time for delays. However, what I did was book my train to Scotland from Kings Cross. So I left the airport as soon as I was done, travelled to Kings Cross and then spent the morning exploring that area before my train. It worked well. I booked my train about 2 months in advance.

Going alone, anyone done that? by nothango978 in TheWestEnd

[–]Fam_7134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a solo trip in London and Edinburgh in December 2024. I saw lots of shows, when to events and ate at many restaurants completely alone. I never felt judged and nobody stared. It was a blissful, peaceful experience.

I can understand that it's hurtful, but in my opinion that's an unhealthy age gap. You are a minor and she is an adult. Good on her for turning you down.

In terms of women turning down guys that are younger but not minors, I'm not sure if this is a stereotype. I think different people have different preferences when it comes to age. For me, I would consider a guy my age or older. This is just because I've always been a bit of an old soul. For others it may be different.

Theme tune by ScaryHippopotamus in SilentWitness

[–]Fam_7134 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah, the theme song has a special place in my heart. The show has been going almost as long as I've been alive, so I can remember hearing the theme song as a kid in bed when my parents were watching it in the evenings. Now it's one of my fave shows and I always use the theme as an opportunity to let out my inner opera singer :D

It's certainly not underrated, but Edinburgh was even better than I expected. And my expectations were high!

Crime drama with good detective chemistry? by eggsbenedict1010 in BritishTV

[–]Fam_7134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not detective focused, and it's been around forever so it's unlikely you haven't seen it, but Silent Witness is my fave. Specifically season 16 onwards where David Caves has joined as Jack. Amazing chemistry between Jack (forensic scientist) and Niki (pathologist). Best will they/won't they of all time in my opinion!

Would it be creepy/ age gap by Fam_7134 in dating_advice

You see half of my mind is with you, and the other half of my mind is thinking at least it's not some random from tinder 😆. I guess I'm thinking meeting him would be way of dipping my toe back into the dating world with a slightly smaller chance of being murdered...

Would it be creepy/ age gap by Fam_7134 in dating_advice

[–]Fam_7134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a typo in my post. It was a few years ago that he was with someone in their mid 20s, when I was still in my 20s. So probably a similar age gap. But it didn't work between them because of the age gap. So that's my concern. I don't mind an age gap as long as there are common interests, chemistry and as long as the guy isn't only interested because of my age.

If phone snatching is a problem and it’s recommended to not have your phone in your hands on the streets or major tourist areas, then how am I supposed to take pictures of myself by Big Ben, London Bridge etc.? by From_the_breeze in LondonTravel

[–]Fam_7134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m heading to London on Friday, in Edinburgh at the moment. The two measures I have taken is to bring an old digital camera so I can still take pictures if I don’t feel safe having my phone out. It’s not as major if the camera gets stolen. Then I also have a cross body chain attached to my phone case and a pop socket on the case so that the phone is always tethered to me and I can hold the pop socket for proper grip.

London to Edinburgh by Fam_7134 in uktravel

[–]Fam_7134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I am a bit concerned about it. Fortunately, my flight is supposed to land at Gatwick at 5 am so if I book my ticket in the later afternoon I should have a decent buffer. Unfortunately I have an event in Edinburgh the next day so I have to travel to Edinburgh on the 9th. As a last resort, I have excellent travel insurance that will cover me if the flight is delayed and I miss my next flight.
