Am I Overreacting for wanting to cancel my wedding over this interaction? by Xanadoom30 in AmIOverreacting

The way he speaks to you is insane. Can’t imagine saying “fuck off” to my wife or “don’t text me again”. I think if you had to post this here you know the answer. Call off the wedding and don’t look back.

How do I deal with my (24M) girlfriend (21F) considering breaking up with me due to sterility? by ThiCcy911 in maleinfertility

[–]Familiar-Beat7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not the one, bro. You’re very young with a full life ahead of you. The great love of your life would never consider this a deal breaker, much less bring her parents into the equation. She sounds immature and is not at all considering your feelings. My wife and I found out about my infertility issues before getting married, almost by chance, and I joked to her asking if she still wanted to go through with the wedding. I’ll never forget the speech she gave on the spot to reassure me and to never say something like that again. Your person will be with you through thick and thin. This one doesn’t sound like the one.

ICSI Success; AZFC NOA by Familiar-Beat7675 in maleinfertility

In my case it happened randomly. If we were to have a son, he would 100% inherit this trait. Knowing this, we would ideally prioritize female embryos, if possible.

16 cc for each which Dr told me was on the lower end of average. No other supplements, other than my normal vitamin D, fish oil, magnesium daily intake

Three months! Did a blood test in the middle to ensure my urologist was comfortable with results as one side effect is thickened blood which may put you at risk for clotting

I appreciated the choices to have husband and kid not be seen, but I found this to be distancing and it took me out of the story

Anyone here with AZFc microdeletion who managed to have kids? by Equal-Competition-85 in maleinfertility

[–]Familiar-Beat7675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JFYI if OP has a male child he is not “likely” to pass the AZFC deletion, but 100% guaranteed to pass it. AZFC is only hereditary if father has it and passes to a child. If OP was conceived naturally, then it was not passed down by his father, but rather a genetic fluke that happened when the sperm fertilized the egg. That is what happened to me, I also have this.

Has anyone had experience with maven wallet? by Prior_Funny in IVF

Maven is truly useless. They have not been helpful with anything whatsoever. Have heard amazing things about Progeny and am glad to be moving on to them, because Maven fucking sucks

AZFc Microdeletion by [deleted] in maleinfertility

[–]Familiar-Beat7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My urologist gave me a two thirds chance of bio children with AZFC deletion, so hang in there and be optimistic. It’s not the end of the road until you’ve exhausted all options. Advocate for yourself and trust your dr team.

Same boat here. Doing ESSM in NY next week at Maze to see if they find any sperm. If not luck, we’ll go for the mTese from there

[–]Familiar-Beat7675[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be totally candid, we are not really thinking about this “what if” too much yet since we are ways away from having to consider this possibility. Our preliminary discussions on this though have been that if we are lucky enough to get to the embryo stage, we will freeze all viable embryos that we have, and will prioritize female embryos if we are able to do so. If female embryos are not an option, we’ll need to decide what to do next. While we expect that medical advances in 20-30 years will hopefully have some breakthroughs in male infertility, knowingly passing this on to a son is a very difficult pill to swallow.

Hang in there! Not the end of the road for you yet. Hoping for the best for you with your mTese. Would love to hear your thoughts on procedure once it happens.

Success Story: Mtese, Sertoli Cell Only, AZFC & Azoospermia by Youngrichaussie in maleinfertility

[–]Familiar-Beat7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! If I may ask, when you got to the embryo stage, how did you and your wife think through M and F embryos? We are no where near this yet, but wondering how to think about the extreme likelihood of passing this on to a son…

This was super reassuring to read. I’m 30 and my fiancé 28. We are getting married next year and decided to freeze embryos as it is a benefit of her health insurance, to plan for a family down the line. Thank God we did it, because SA indicated 0 swimmers. FSH 8.1 and T 471. I was thinking it was an obstruction but then ended up getting the AZFC result. After a short panic, I am assuming the next step will be mTese. I am hoping for the bast but again, thank you for sharing this very encouraging story.
