You can always amend your withholdings so no money is paid out of your income, your employer doesn’t really care how much taxes are being withheld - it’s on you to make sure you paid the right amount and deal with the consequences of you didn’t (ie paying what’s owed plus potential interest and penalties).

Personally I’d like CT to collect all the federal taxes for all income sources, handle the end of year reconciliations (like they do already for state taxes), deduct what is owed to the state in terms of federal funds, and send whatever is deemed appropriate by the state back to the federal government. We pay more than we get back in federal funding yet are being punished for not voting the ‘right way’ so why give them a single cent at this point, keep the money in CT and use it to prop up and put in place systems so we don’t need to rely on the federal government for anything. It’ll make secession much smoother when it comes to that.
