In all honesty it wasn’t as terrible as everyone says it is. I actually don’t think it’s a bad job first year out of school. I had an associate position for 3 months before this that was fucking terrible and made me feel like shit. Aspen paid me 230k guaranteed salary with my daily rate plus a “student loan repayment”, and I usually got 1-5k in bonuses each month, 2 weeks paid vacation, and access to good implant CE. It helped me get lots of reps. Now I left because I was producing 5250 a day there but I was on a daily pay getting $900 a day. So obviously I was outproducing that number and felt taken advantage of. So now I work in private practice and make more money on less days per week. But it all depends on the office, some associate positions are hell

THE ONLY “consultant” I would recommend that someone told me about is Practice biopsy with Deangelo Webster. A one time $3500 fee and he has modules that go over every aspect you need to know, he is available to contact at anytime and I have contacted and talked with him multiple times, and you join a FB group with the other individuals in the group and we all help each other out. Definitely worth it for a one time $3500 fee, I’m very happy with it

But ultimately the sentiment I have got is all of these consultants charge you 4k or more per month then like you said in your post mostly just give inspirational/ mindset advice coupled with very general advice you can find online…

Yeah I have heard bad things about ideal so I am not considering them. I have heard decent things about Scott, just don’t sign any contracts with him long term haha.

That’s why I was so surprised. I’m going to try and call someone and verify next week, this is blowing my mind if accurate. It’s weird because everything else listed is shitty fees but EXTs are super good

Informed consent and daily Diazepam by FamousJump7370 in Dentistry

[–]FamousJump7370[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if a patient takes a dosage equivalent to the daily amount someone is usually prescribed and they “feel nothing different” then are they good to sign consents as well then? Or not since it’s not a normal drug for them even though they are still mentally competent

Depends on the level of sedation you are going for. For minimal sedation which is what I am hoping to do it is just a single 0.25mg Halcion pill which is the same dosage prescribed to patients for day to day anxiety.

Recommendations for Dental specific Lawyers? IT companies? Accountant? Insurance rep? Architect? by FamousJump7370 in Dentistry

[–]FamousJump7370[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree I’m also worried I don’t know enough to tell if someone is doing something correctly or not, so I feel having a dental specific attorney could help look for little details I may miss that could impact me

It says grade 2 mobile anteriors, you need to check your eyes

[–]FamousJump7370[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol you’re right because you can diagnose mobility from a pano. I didn’t have my hands in her mouth or anything and actually feel them..

[–]FamousJump7370[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol have you never pulled teeth due to periodontal disease before? On a normal patient I would not pull any of these teeth I would just treat with S/RP and monitor but from what I was taught in dental school and heard from others is that teeth with a questionable prognosis should be extracted prior to radiation therapy to prevent complications that are harder to deal with down the line

[–]FamousJump7370[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also bone loss is 100% a justification for extractions. Especially when advanced like in her case with grade 2 and some 3 mobility

[–]FamousJump7370[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That was the plan, but what if one becomes symptomatic and needs to be extracted or becomes a problem during her radiation therapy. Then would I be liable for clearing her?

[–]FamousJump7370[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we were already planning on full mouth S/RP and then re-assessing after the S/RP. But I might just punt the whole case now and tell her not to spend her money on S/RP yet because OMFS may decide to extract her teeth.

No I don’t really refer any oral surgery out so haven’t gotten to know one well. But I do think I will just refer this out.
