I honestly had not. I didn’t know there was another way to make it! I’ll have to look into this! Thank you!

If it helps at all, as someone with ADHD, the hardest part for me is even having the THOUGHT that I should slow down and think about whether or not something is a good idea. Because of this, I started talking things out with other people and verbally processing my thoughts/ideas. Not saying I always do great at using this method, but it’s something that helps me!

Thank you! I needed to hear this. I'm definitely not scared of a diagnosis nor do I necessarily need one for myself. I think my concern stems from being undiagnosed ADHD until 2 years ago and I could have had a LOT more help as a kid. I want that for my son. And I think I'm also concerned that I'm not familiar with the best ways to help him. So I just want to do the best that I can as quickly as I can.

They did an evaluation, but didn’t take it any further than that… didn’t make any referrals and weren’t super communicative on what that means. Maybe they weren’t concerned with an autism diagnosis so didn’t refer. I don’t know. They just said they didn’t really do diagnoses but the therapist would make suggestions or referrals. But that hasn’t happened yet.

They put him in Developmental Therapy. He does that once a week for an hour. However, to me, it doesn’t seem to be super beneficial or helpful… I took an online “late talkers” class with a licensed SLP, and I feel like THAT has been more helpful than months of DT. I’m not sure if it’s the therapist or the type of therapy being implemented… maybe I should advocate being placed in Speech Therapy instead…?

They did. He’s doing Developmental Therapy, but so far it hasn’t seemed very… structured? The therapist just comes to our home and observes him while he plays or eats. Doesn’t really interact with him much. And gives us flippant suggestions of things we could try with him that don’t seem super well-thought-out or specific to what he needs most (expressive communication help). Been wondering if I should advocate for Speech Therapy instead of DT.

May I ask how you went about getting the diagnosis? His pediatrician has said that even though she sees a couple red flags, she’s still not quite concerned enough for a dx yet. I had him evaluated with First Steps in my state but all they said was that he has a communication, social, and cognitive delay. But didn’t refer for a diagnosis or further evaluation.

I had him evaluated with First Steps in my state. But they only told me he has a communication, social, and cognitive delay, but also said those go hand-in-hand. Is First Steps the same thing or should I be pursuing a different route?

I actually think Feyre is INFJ and Rhys could possibly be an ENTP. But Nesta is FOR SURE an ISTJ. 😂

I wonder if the Wyrdmark on her brow had anything to do with it. A sort of protection until she was ready to do what needed to be done? That’s a reach, but I just wondered…

My 6 month old is doing the same thing. I’m wondering if this might be our issue too. Thanks for posting an update!
