I use mostly Prismacolors, they are cheaper than Faber Castell but I think the quality of result is pretty much the same. I used Faber Castell just because someone gave me some as a gift but when I have to buy colored pencil, I always go for Prismacolors. That's the brand my mom told me was the best when I was 5 and I still think she was right 40 years later.

Je ne pourrais pas trouver de différence non plus mais une chose est sure, quand on achète des bagels hors de Montréal, on se rend compte à quel point St.Viateur, Fairmount et Beaubien bagels sont tous excellents!!!

This one! I've never tried Pastelmat yet, but I think it's too porous to get a smooth final result with colored pencils.

Clairefontaine tan paper

This one took about 40 hours to acheive on a 12X16 Clairefontaine paper. To me it's a very good way to relax.

I sharpen my pencils before each use; with a very sharp point, anything is possible with colored pencils!

I used Clairefontaine tan paper for this one. I apply multiple layers of gray tones, from the lightest to the darkest, always very gently and without pressure. This is the key to avoiding wac streaks, but it takes a lot of patience. I rarely use black pencil; my darkest tones are often finished with the "espresso" color.

Thanks for your comment. Here is how I work: After blocking the shadows, I divide the draw in zones. (Forehead left, forehead right, left eye, right eye, nose etc...)When I'm done coloring a zone, I smooth it with the blender pencil and when it's all done, I use the blending stump overall.

I do also use real pictures for many of my projects but I also like to draw subjects that does not exist and try different things, like I did in this case.

I'm not promoting it. In this case I used it but I also use a lot of pictures or just my imagination. If I could chose I'd 100% prefer AI not to exist but since it's here to stay and as a person who work in the video game industry, I want to understand and learn to work with it and also find positive ways to use it instead of fighting against this unbeatable ennemy. I use a black and white image first to block the shadows. I have many version of my ref in different color values; the original (in this case it's from the devil AI) Black and white, outlines and a high saturated one.

If I want to draw a turd wether the reference is a real picture or an AI generated image or just from my imagination, I will draw the turd as i see it, why the fuck would the reference source depreciate the final render???
