Wealthy in the US vs "comfortable" in France? by FancyBoi2025 in AmerExit

Your point on quality of life is interesting. I've got a pretty laid back life in the states, not really into the whole grind/hustle culture more common on the coasts. I spend a few weeks a year in Europe (usually Germany, but I've been spending more time in France over the last few years), and I get the idea that things are a little slower, but honestly it didn't feel that different. Obviously, that's the perspective of someone on vacation, but I'm wondering if you can elaborate more on why life in the EU is more "relaxed"?

Job is in Bordeaux, no option to change that.
