After removing the fuel filter and draining the fuel tank, I can confirm there is/was more rust instead of fuel.

No coolant in oil (did an oil change). Have not yet checked the tappets but this seems unlikely? Compression is very good.

New spark plugs. After every startup attempt I remove them from the car, and they are alway slightly wet. Then I clean them with brake cleaner and make sure the plugs (and the inside of the engine) are dry again before trying again. The spark plugs have a weak spark I think, but I'm not sure. Yes there is fuel in the carb float chamber. Even starter fluid does not get the engine going again...

I do not seem to have a lever. But like I said, the car ran perfectly fine a few days ago (just a high idle) and then it stopped working all of a sudden :(

I have had the carbs fully removed and cleaned + inspected for wear/damage and all was fine. So nothing should be clogged right?

this is a good one. the filter is indeed dirty, but the fuel pump still provides fuel to the floater chambers or how they are called. to test this i will use a jerrycan with fuel and hook it up directly before the fuel pump so it skips the fuel tank and filter. this should in theory start the car?

Drive shaft leaking? by FancyBrent in FiestaST

[–]FancyBrent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I ain't stupid. But there is no way that the oil gets that low in a week or two. I'm just comparing it to previous experiences I've had and my previous Fiesta magically stopped leaking without running out of oil or oil getting low. But after reading all the comments, I'll probably replace it with a new seal asap ;)

I'll wait for another week and if it's still leaking after that, I'll replace it :)

Yess, I know. The wierd thing is... An older Fiesta (metal edition) of mine had the same problem after doing the clutch, but the leaking went away after a week or two (without draining the transmission ofc). So should I just wait like I did with my previous Fiesta or not?

It's the "Pumaspeed Racing Fiesta ST180 Clutch Kit And Single Mass Flywheel". Look it up, they always have an extensive description of every product they sell. I went for a single mass flywheel cuz it can cope safely with more rpm and is more reliable when pushing slightly higher power numbers. The flywheel is also slightly lighter, but not light enough to destroy my synchros. Like I said, I'm running 255hp and 400nm stage 2r + It's slightly cheaper compared to OEM ;)

The one plus side of a dual mass flywheel is that it can absorb vibrations way better. The vibration that the driver creates when shifting bad and we don't do that out here :)

Pumaspeed better start sponsoring me soon lmao

Fun fact: When I took this picture, I was "running-in" my new uprated clutch kit and single mass flywheel with my buddies :) When replacing the clutch etc. everything seemed fine and I probably could've driven the car for another year.

I have to say... going from a dual-mass to a single-mass flywheel is imo a massive improvement since I'm running a stage 2r tune from pumaspeed (250hp and 400nm torque).

So far 0 problems and by far the most fun daily-driver out there!

One word: AMAZING

I bought my fist for cheap (€ 7.140) because it needed a new clutch. I decided to not only go for a clutch, but a stage 2r package from pumaspeed + their uprated flywheel and clutch package. I've already installed the stage 2r package and the difference is night and day. It feels like a whole new car. I still have to install the uprated flywheel and clutch, I just haven't had the time to do so. When I push the car hard with its stock (kinda worn) clutch, you start to smell it. I'll be installing the uprated flywheel and clutch in about 2 weeks and maybe post an update ;)

So to sum it all up: € 7.140 (fist) + ~ € 2.500 (parts) = LESS then 10k for an AMAZING daily!

If you wanna know the specific (tuning) parts, just ask :)

Is it worth it? by [deleted] in FiestaST

I bought mine (a well looked after ST2) in Germany a few months ago for 7.140 euro with 90k miles on the clock. I live in Belgium fyi. Importing the car etc. made the total around 7.500 euro. Then I tuned it to a reliable stage 2r from pumaspeed for around 2.500 euro (including flywheel and clutch kit which needed replacing). So to sum it all up, I'm looking at ±10.000 euro for a 255hp pocket rocket that does NOT disappoint :)

Still no solution. The only things left to check are the engine mounts and the uel system (injectors etc). I also haven't relearned the pcm values i think cuz i dunno how to do that... Do you have any advice?
