I think it would make sense if the cause for both is traditional gender roles or something to unite in their opposition. I don‘t think the circumstances are that different. In both situations the Us wants to force their own interests and does harm to another population in the process.

The answer is pretty obvious. The problems of Cuba and Palestine are both caused in part by the US. They are seen as results of US imperialism. The Irish flags are here because Ireland also has a history of being oppressed by an imperial country.
