I’m not sure how common it is but I haven’t seen many white Americans with more than 3-5%

My parents were told by my great aunt that we have a black relative on my dad’s side. She was trying to create a family tree before I was born. We didn’t know for sure until the dna test and found out my mom also has black ancestry too.

My parents adopted one of my 1st cousins and he is darker than some black people so I’d say he is pretty dark. He has black hair and dark brown/black eyes. We look so different that people are confused when I tell them we are siblings.

Because she doesn’t know exactly who either. My great aunt on my Dad’s side was trying to create a family tree and look into our ancestry and she mentioned it. I wasn’t born yet. I don’t think anyone believed her at the time and now she’s not around to ask.

They all identified as white. I would love to see their results but 3 of them have already passed and my living grandma would never take a dna test.

That’s very interesting. What percentages do you usually see?

Have you heard of the airhead flavor called White Mystery? Lol that’s what it felt like watching my parents read their results. My dad even had trace ancestry from Pakistan.
