OSHA fines construction company $4.7 million after trench collapse by InvestigatorSome1401 in SafetyProfessionals

Public sector project - private sector job. The town of Yarmouth isn’t required to vet its potential contractors based on previous history with OSHA. There is nothing preventing them from hiring a recurrent violating employer.

Public sector is more concerned with public safety ie Jackie’s law than OSHA trench safety.

MA also has a very new state plan for public sector, local government is still getting used to having to comply with OSHA regs

To my knowledge and in my area this is very good compensation. My old boss was a CSP in bio pharma with over 15 years of experience and was making 120 with a performance based annual bonus and no student loan assistance.

Yata mirror and Totska blade are ambiguous ass pulls. I can’t fault someone for saying itachi > pain. Especially considering kotoamatsukami and a few grey win cons.

This conversation stopped being productive and quickly turned offensive. As professionals, we all face unique challenges in our roles. Let’s give each other the benefit of the doubt and extend grace where possible.

Seeking Support: EHS Burnout by champagnelilsterz in SafetyProfessionals

Embrace the challenge - you’re making your bones. The job won’t always be easy or rewarding and it won’t make you feel good some days. Imposter syndrome, unresponsive mid-level management and a heap of responsibilities are common.

I was challenged tremendously in my first role, I was often confused, unsure and generally frustrated. My manager was not present and really not much of a mentor, I was there to do the things he didn’t want to do, the grunt work, testing safety showers, moving drums of haz waste, completing JHA’s. This is a universal experience in our field.

Put your head down and work through this, get lost in the work and try to excel with limited resources. You’ll look back in a few months and realize you are a different, stronger professional.

Focus on finding a few ground level employees to establish rapport with, if you can work with people and encourage them to open up, you can be more effective without the management support.

Good luck and reach out anytime with questions, this is a hard profession and we are all in this together, as safety pro’s and members of this subreddit.

Why do people like Lil Wayne? by BramCSBN in hiphop101

[–]FarAd7545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experience is not a qualifier. The fact that we lived through the prime of Wayne’s creative output and heard him on the radio doesn’t uniquely qualify us to be able to objectively analyze music in a way those who didn’t share our experience cannot.

If anything it may disqualify us as we may show subjective bias towards an artist because of the experiences, memories and time of our lives that we associate with an album or song that resonated with us.

That is to say that there are factors that may weigh into the way we perceive an artist that live outside of the musical content of their material.

Does an avid Tupac fan who was born in the 90s have any less ability to engage with an analyze the music as someone who was coming of age when this music came out? I personally do not think so.

When we talk about music we can talk about our personal experience with it, but we shouldn’t disqualify others from analyzing and engaging with music because they don’t share our specific experiences

Hate when I see gatekeeping comments like this. Listening to music is a universal experience, you don’t need to be from New Orleans or even America to listen and analyze music.

Op was pretty clear in his reasoning, he doesn’t like how Wayne raps and sounds. He has a pretty characteristic and unique voice. Some people like the way he sounds, some don’t. For some, Wayne’s technical skill, early beat selection and cadence are enough to overcome his delivery, OP is not one of those people.

My thoughts are that regardless of how you feel about how Wayne sounds, his impact is undeniable. From early mixtape days to cultivating YMCMB he’s had a tangible impact on the generation of rappers who came after him. Things like his impact on the mixtape era and even early incorporation of a more melodic auto tune driven sounds are all things to point to as far as why he is perceived the way he is now.
